Gloucester Coronation of Henry III

On 28 Oct 1216 Henry III King England was crowned III King England: Plantagenet Angevin at Gloucester Cathedral during the Gloucester Coronation of Henry III at which Cardinal Guala Bicchieri presided, Sylvester Unknown Bishop Worcester and Simon Apulia Bishop Exeter anointed the King. The coronation took place in Gloucester since London was at the time held by rebels. John Monmouth was present.

On 17 May 1220 Henry III King England was crowned III King England: Plantagenet Angevin at Westminster Abbey during the Westminster Coronation of Henry III since the Pope didn't consider the earlier Gloucester Coronation of Henry III to have been performed correctly. Stephen Langton Archbishop Canterbury presided.

Rebels William Mowbray 6th Baron Thirsk, 4th Baron Mowbray and William Ros were captured. William Dalbini fought for the rebels. Thomas Chateaudun I Count Perche died fighting for the rebels.

French re-enforcements had left Calais to join with the future Louis "Lion" VIII King France 's forces who were in short supply following the Second Battle of Lincoln. Hubert Burgh Count Mortain, 1st Earl Kent 's men routed the French ships. The battle marked the end of Louis "Lion" VIII King France 's invasion with the Treaty of Kingston aka Lambeth being signed shortly afterwards.

In Sep 1217 Treaty of Kingston aka Lambeth was agreed by Louis "Lion" VIII King France in which he renounced his claim to the English throne, gave an amnesty to English rebels and acknowledged the Channel Islands as being part of the Kingdom of England.
