Gloucester Coronation of Henry III

On 28 Oct 1216 Henry III King England was crowned III King England: Plantagenet Angevin at Gloucester Cathedral during the Gloucester Coronation of Henry III at which Cardinal Guala Bicchieri presided, Sylvester Unknown Bishop Worcester and Simon Apulia Bishop Exeter anointed the King. The coronation took place in Gloucester since London was at the time held by rebels. John Monmouth was present.

Westminster Coronation of Henry III

John Warenne 6th Earl Surrey, John Balliol, Robert Bruce 5th Lord Annadale, Roger Leybourne and William Valence 1st Earl Pembroke fought for the King. Guy Lusignan was killed. Fulk IV Fitzwarin drowned. Walter Cantilupe Bishop Worcester was present and blessed the Montfort army before the battle.

Battle of Evesham

On 04 Aug 1265 the army loyal to Henry III King England, led by his son the future Edward "Longshanks" I King England, supported by Gilbert "Red Earl" Clare 7th Earl Gloucester, 6th Earl Hertford, Warin Basingburne and John Giffard 1st Baron Giffard Brimpsfield defeated the rebel army of Simon Montfort 6th Earl Leicester at the Battle of Evesham.
Roger Leybourne fought and reputedly saved the King's life.
Adam Mohaut rescued the King.
Simon Montfort 6th Earl Leicester and his son Henry Montfort were killed.
Hugh Despencer 1st Baron Despencer was killed by Roger Mortimer 1st Baron Mortimer Wigmore.
Simon Beauchamp, Ralph Basset 1st Baron Basset Drayton, William Devereux, Hugh Troyes, Richard Trussel, Peter Montfort, William Mandeville, William Crepping, William Birmingham, Guy Balliol and Thomas Astley were killed. Henry Hastings, Humphrey Bohun, Nicholas Segrave 1st Baron Segrave, John Vesci, John Fitzjohn and Guy Montfort Count Nola were captured.

Dictum of Kenilworth

On 31 Oct 1266 the Dictum of Kenilworth was issued. The Dictum was a peace agreement between Henry III King England and the rebels who were besieged in the impregnable Kenilworth Castle. The committee included:

The Dictum, however, required the rebels to pay their fines before being restored to their lands; something of a Catch-22 since if they weren't restored to their lands, they would have no income to pay the fine.
