Battle of Shrewsbury

On 21 Jul 1403 Henry IV King England, with his son the future Henry V King England, defeated the rebel army of Henry "Hotspur" Percy at the Battle of Shrewsbury at the site now known as Battlefield. Thomas Erpingham commanded the archers. Thomas Rempston was present. Thomas Strickland carried the Banner of St George.
The Welsh included: William ap Thomas "Blue Knight of Gwent" Herbert, Walter Sais, Roger Vaughan and his son Roger Vaughan. Owen Tudor is believed to have been present as a squire.
The French army suffered significant casualties. Charles Albret, Robert Bar Count Soissons, Count Marle, Edward Bar III Duke Bar, Anthony Valois-Burgundy Duke Brabant, Philip Valois-Burgundy II Count Nevers, John Valois-Alençon I Duke Alençon, John Bar, Jacques Chatillon, Frederick Metz I Count Vaudémont, David Rambures and his three sons: Jean Rambures, Hugues Rambures and Philippe Rambures, Waleran Luxembourg were killed. Charles Valois Duke Orléans, John Bourbon I Duke Bourbon and Charles Artois Count Eu were captured.

In 1419 John Beaufort 1st Duke Somerset fought in his cousin Henry V King England campaigns in France.

Treaty of Troyes

On 21 May 1420 #the Treaty of Troyes was signed at Troyes. Trial and Punishment of Eleanor Cobham

In 1441 Eleanor Cobham, wife of the heir presumptive Humphrey 1st Duke Gloucester, brother of the deceased Henry V King England, uncle of Henry VI King England, II King France, was tried for predicting the future of the King; in reality a veiled attack on her husband who had over-reached himself. She had consulted two astrologers Thomas Southwell and Roger Bolingbroke. All three were arrested, tried and found guilty. Eleanor denied most of the charges but confessed to obtaining potions from Margery Jourdemayne, 'the Witch of Eye'. Thomas Southwell died whilst in the Tower of London. Roger Bolingbroke was hanged, drawn and quartered. Margery Jourdemayne was burned at the stake. Eleanor was sentenced to do public penance, divorce her husband and remain confined for the remainder of her life. . .
