Around Jan 1377 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was born to John of Gaunt 1st Duke Lancaster and Katherine Roet Duchess Lancaster.

On Feb 1397 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter legitimised.

In 1400 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was appointed 98th Knight Garter: Henry IV.

Before 15 Feb 1404 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter and Margaret Neville Duchess Exeter were married.

Northern Rising

On 27 May 1405 Richard Scrope Archbishop York and Thomas Mowbray 4th Earl Norfolk, 2nd Earl Nottingham assembled a force of around 8000 men at Shipton Moor. Believing they had been given safe conduct by Ralph Neville 1st Earl Westmoreland and assured their demands would be met, the rebel army disbanded .
On 29 May 1405 Richard Scrope Archbishop York and Thomas Mowbray 4th Earl Norfolk, 2nd Earl Nottingham were arrested and taken to Pontefract Castle.
On 03 Jun 1405 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter arrived at York. The King denied the accused trial by their peers. Thomas Fitzalan 10th Earl Surrey, 12th Earl Arundel and Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter sat in judgement of Richard Scrope Archbishop York and Thomas Mowbray 4th Earl Norfolk, 2nd Earl Nottingham. William Gascoigne refused to pronounce sentence on Richard Scrope Archbishop York and Thomas Mowbray 4th Earl Norfolk, 2nd Earl Nottingham asserting their right to be tried by their peers.
On 08 Jun 1405 Richard Scrope Archbishop York and Thomas Mowbray 4th Earl Norfolk, 2nd Earl Nottingham was beheaded before a great crowd at York for having led the Northern Rising.

On 05 Jul 1411 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was created 1st Earl Dorset (2C 1411). Margaret Neville Duchess Exeter by marriage Earl Dorset (2C 1411).

Before 1413 Henry Beaufort was born to Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter and Margaret Neville Duchess Exeter.

In 1415 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was appointed as Captain Harfleur.

On 18 Nov 1416 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was created 1st Duke Exeter (2C 1416). Margaret Neville Duchess Exeter by marriage Duke Exeter (2C 1416).

In 1419 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was captured at Château Gaillard.

In 1419 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter was appointed as Captain of Rouen.

Treaty of Troyes

On 21 May 1420 #the Treaty of Troyes was signed at Troyes. Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter and Ralph Cromwell 3rd Baron Cromwell negotiated the terms which included the marriage of Henry V King England 1386-1422[Henry V} and Catherine of Valois, daughter of Charles V, and the acknowledgement of Henry V King England as Charles V's heir disinheriting the Dauphin.

Battle of Baugé

On 23 Mar 1421 the Dauphin's and Scottish army heavily defeated the English army at the Battle of Baugé. On the French side Étienne Vignolles fought. On the Scottish side John Stewart 2nd Earl Buchan and John Stewart of Darnley 1st Count Évreux fought. William Douglas was killed.
On the English side John Beaufort 1st Duke Somerset, Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter, Thomas Beaufort Count Perche and John Holland 2nd Duke Exeter were captured.
Thomas Lancaster 1st Duke Clarence, John Lumley, John Grey 1st Earl Tankerville, Walter Fitzwalter 7th Baron Fitzwalter, John Ros 7th Baron Ros Helmsley and his son William Ros, and Gilbert V Umfraville were killed.

On 31 Dec 1426 Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter died at Greenwich.
