George Stewart and Robert Bertie 1582-1642 1st Earl Lindsey were killed. Of the Parliamentary army Basil Feilding 2nd Earl Denbigh and Robert Devereux 3rd Earl Essex. Oliver St John 5th Baron St John Bletso was wounded.
Thomas Strickland was knighted on the field for his gallantry at the Battle of Edge Hill.

First Battle of Newbury

On 20 Sep 1643 the First Battle of Newbury was fought at Newbury with Charles I King England, Scotland and Ireland commanding the Royalist army and Robert Devereux 3rd Earl Essex commanding the victorious Parliamentary army.
