Around 1367 Thomas Chaucer was born to Geoffrey Chaucer (age 24) and Philippa Roet (age 21).

Around 1387 [his mother] Philippa Roet (age 41) died.

On 25 Oct 1400 [his father] Geoffrey Chaucer (age 57) died. He was buried at Poets Corner Westminster Abbey [Map].

Before 1404 Thomas Chaucer (age 37) and Maud Burghesh (age 24) were married.

In 1404 [his daughter] Alice Chaucer Duchess Suffolk was born to Thomas Chaucer (age 37) and [his wife] Maud Burghesh (age 25).

In 1407 Thomas Chaucer (age 40) was appointed Speaker of the House of Commons.

Siege of Harfleur

In Sep 1415 King Henry V of England (age 29) commenced his invasion of France by undertaking the Siege of Harfleur to provide himself with a port from which to supply future operations. John Mowbray 2nd Duke of Norfolk (age 23), John Fastolf (age 35) and Thomas Chaucer (age 48) fought. [his future son-in-law] William "Jackanapes" de la Pole 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 18) was wounded. Bishop Benedict Nichols was present.

In 1417 John Arundell (age 25) and [his sister-in-law] Margaret Burghesh (age 38) were married.

In 1417 Richard Arches of Eythrop died. The wardship of his heir Joan Arches (age 7) was given to Thomas Chaucer (age 50).

After 1421 [his son-in-law] Thomas Montagu 1st Count Perche 4th Earl Salisbury (age 32) and [his daughter] Alice Chaucer Duchess Suffolk (age 17) were married. She by marriage Countess Salisbury. He the son of John Montagu 3rd Earl Salisbury and Maud Francis Countess of Salisbury (age 57). He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward "Longshanks" I of England.

In 1424 [his sister-in-law] Margaret Burghesh (age 45) died.

On 11 Nov 1430 [his son-in-law] William "Jackanapes" de la Pole 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 34) and [his daughter] Alice Chaucer Duchess Suffolk (age 26) were married. She by marriage Countess Suffolk. He the son of Michael de la Pole 2nd Earl Suffolk and Katherine Stafford Countess Suffolk. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward "Longshanks" I of England.

On 18 Nov 1434 Thomas Chaucer (age 67) died. He was buried at St Mary's Church, Ewelme [Map].
