[ ] Amen Second dae may Anno doni [1561] [ ] I John WATERHOUSSE of Heaffeld in the countie of Derbie Beying of pfect memorie thanks be to god Almightie dredynge the [uncertayne] ower of death do declare pnounse Settforth & make my last wyll & testamt as well so

And contanynge the dysposytyon of all my Lands As also of all my goods & cattells [ ] Ablie & [ ] all the thyngs whatsoer in manr & forme ensuyng ffyrst I the said John Bequeth my soule to god allmightie to Reste withe the Blessed Virgin Marye to [ ] also wythe the [ ] of the hoole company of Heven And my Bodye to be Buryed in the pysh church of Glossop [Map]

Item I wyll that my Executor hearaft to be nomynated shall deduct & take of my hoole goods as [ ] therof as wyll pay discharge all my detts furnerall expences [ ] wt all such charge as maye hear after hap to Be and concernynge the p[ ] & paymente of this my last will

And [ ] it ys my will & mynde that my Sone nycholas WATERHOUSSE shall Immedeately ffrom my decease have & to hold to hym the sayd nyclas & his heyres forever all my lands & Tenmnts wych I the sayd John have now in the Ralm of England to gyther wt all my goods takynge farmes pledgs [ ] cattells & all other moveable & Immoveable goods of what kynde soer the Be of and in whose hand soer the be under uppon the condycyons ensuynge is to wytt, ffyrste I wyll that the sayd nyclas hys heyres & Assygnes wtin the tyme & space of tow yeares in ptte followynge my decease pay & gyve to my son Thomas (age 34) & his Assignes xvj£ xiijs iiijd of lawfull Englishe money and & besyde all hys chylds pt wych he herto affsd hath had of my goods to [ ] Apptaynge after my decease

And also I the said John do by this my said last wyll fforever gyve & Bequethe the said Thomas (age 34) all suche detts as he the said Thomas doth owe unto me the said John and also I wyll that the said nyclas hys heyres & assygnes shall wtin the said tow yeares in ptte After my sayd decease pay & giffe to my dougtter Angnes & her chyldren iiij pounds of lawffull money

And I the sayd John do forever gyffe Bequethe to Ottwell ANDREW my sonne in lawe all suche detts as he doth owe me the sayd John WATRHOUSSE

Also yt ys my pnall wyll & mynde that the said nychlas hys heyres assignes shall wtin the said tyme & space of tow yeares in ptte ensuynge my said decease give & pay to my doughter Elizabeth & her chyldren vj marks of Lawfull money also it ys my wyll & mynde that all my wylles herto affsd by me the said John made and hearafter to be made this my sayd [ ] wyll except shall voyd & of [ ] and to the [ ] pformacyon herof I ordein & make the sayd nycholas sone and Ottwell ARNEFELD of the sayd Heyfeld True & lawfull [ ] & [ ] Itm I gyff & bequethe to evry chyld wyche I am grandffather unto my [ ] chyldren to [ ] And unto [ ] grandffather unto xxs And to [ ] godchylde xxs Thes wyttnesses Rychard [ ] Thomas ARMEFELD wt others.

On 15 Jun 1600 Joan Waterhouse of Hayfield made her will:

In the name of god. Amen. In the xv the day of June in the yeare of our Lorde god 1600. I Joan WATERHOUSE of heyfeelde in the county of Darby sicke in bodye, but in mynde of good and perfect remembrance, praysed be god, knowinge the certenty of Deathe and the uncertenty of the houre and tyme thereof Doe make this my last will and testament in maner & forme followinge.

first I commit my soule to almightye god my maker, trustinge through the merits of Christ Gracpassion to Be on of gods elect and my bodye to be buryed in the church of Glossop [Map] where I am a parishnoure

Item I give to Thomas WATERHOUSE my brother xiid.

Item I give to Raphe WATERHOUSE my Brother xiid.

Item I give to Ellen HALL my sister my best petycoate and iijs iiijd,

the rest of all my goods & Debts I give & bequeath to John WATERHOUSE my brother, whom I make executour of this my last will and testament,

And Thomas BOWDON of heyfeelde the elder myne overseere, trustinge he will see this my last will in all poynts Discharged, my funeral expences and legacyes beinge Discharged of my whole goodes, And all other wills exec & overseers by me heartofore made, I utterly disanull and this to stande in force

29 Apr 1697. Francis Gee of the Parish of Glossop married Margaret Booth, also of this parish, at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map] in Glossop.

On 25 May 1769 Samuel Marriott and Margaret Gee (age 22) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map]. Witnesses were John BRAY and John FOX. They resided at Hillhouses, Kinder [Map].

On 03 Aug 1769 Reverend John Lingard and Betty Booth (age 19) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map]. Witnesses were Thomas WATERHOUSE and Anthony BARBER.

Before 04 Apr 1772, on 18 Jul, Thomas Waterhouse of Booth in Kinder and Ellen Booth (age 27) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map]. The service was peformed by Reverend John Lingard who was the husband of her sister Betty Booth (age 22).

On 09 May 1805 John Gee (age 23) and Mary Carrington were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map]. Witnesses were James CARINGTON and Robert CARRINGTON who were probably her brothers.

On 21 Sep 1806 Joseph Waterhouse (age 25) and Leah Waterhouse (age 19) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map]. Possibly. She is on the census as Leah and born in Hayfield in 1786.

On 17 Jul 1810 John Marriott and Ellen Waterhouse (age 30) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map].

On 25 Jan 1825 Thomas Livesly and Leah Waterhouse (age 38) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map].

On 04 Nov 1828 John Shirt of Edale (age 24) and Ann Gee (age 20) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map]. The witnesses were William TYM and Sarah GEE (age 21) - her sister.

On 04 Oct 1842 William Gee (age 30) and Martha Wardle (age 17) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map].

Martha Wardle: In 1825 she was born to James Wardle. In the 1861 Census William Gee was recorded as an innkeeper living on Main Street in the hamlet of Phoeside, Hayfield with Martha Wardle.

In 1844 Thomas Gee (age 37) and Ann Goddard were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map].

On 01 Jul 1901 Harry Chadwick (age 25) and Alice Haigh (age 21) were married at All Saints Church, Glossop [Map].
