Aug 1629. Canopied mural monument in marble and alabaster to Frances Palmer nee Harvey died 1628 wife of Edward Palmer Counseller at Law. Antedates the present church. Jacobean Hooded Monument. It shows her recling head on hand propped up by elbow, attended by her kneeling husband. Two children, possibly originally a third. Four skulls probably indicating children who had predeceased her. 1720. Church of St Rumbold, Stoke Doyle [Map]. Monument to Edward Ward sculpted by John Michael Rysbrack (age 25) in 1720 and was erected in 1725 during the rebuilding of the church. Elbow Reclining Figure in Judges's Robes. Ionic columns with Pediment. Arms at top being Ward impaled with his wife's Elizabeth Papillon (age 61); her arms having three butterflies being a pun on her surname Papillon. Powdered Wig. Heeled Shoes. Buckled Shoes.

Edward Ward: In or before 1714 he and Elizabeth Papillon were married. The difference in their ages was 20 years. In 1638 he was born to William Ward of Preston in Rutlandshire. On 14 Jul 1714 he died at his house at Essex Street.

Elizabeth Papillon: On 27 Jul 1658 she was born to Thomas Papillon Merchant and Jane Broadnax.

After 23 Feb 1730. Monument to Katherine late wife of Roland Hunt Rector of Stoke Doyle. Church of St Rumbold, Stoke Doyle [Map].

In 1772 the original church of the site of Church of St Rumbold, Stoke Doyle [Map] was demolished. The first service in the current church was held on 24 Mar 1727, with funds largely provided by Edward Ward.

Edward Ward: he was born to Edward Ward and Elizabeth Papillon.

After 1819. Memorial to Hannah Roberts, wife of Rector Robert Roberts, who died in childbirth, and their child Elizabeth who died six weeks. Sculpted by Francis Leggatt Chantrey (age 37). Marble plaque in half-relief. Church of St Rumbold, Stoke Doyle [Map].

Around 1835 the Italian wooden angels were erected at Church of St Rumbold, Stoke Doyle [Map]. They previously held a banner between them with the words "Glory to God in the highest, Peace on Earth, Goodwill to men". They were erected by John Shillibeer, Rector of Stoke Doyle and headmaster of Oundle school from 1829 to 1841.
