On 30 Sep 1952 Waldorf Astor 2nd Viscount Astor (age 73) died. His son William Waldorf Astor 3rd Viscount Astor (age 45) succeeded 3rd Viscount Astor, 3rd Baron Astor. Sarah Norton Viscountess Astor (age 32) by marriage Viscountess Astor.
On 07 Mar 1966 William Waldorf Astor 3rd Viscount Astor (age 58) died. His son William Astor 4th Viscount Astor (age 14) succeeded 4th Viscount Astor, 4th Baron Astor.

On 19 Jul 1971 John Jacob Astor 1st Baron Astor (age 85) died. His son Gavin Astor 2nd Baron Astor (age 53) succeeded 2nd Baron Astor.
On 28 Jun 1984 Gavin Astor 2nd Baron Astor (age 66) died. His son John Astor 3rd Baron Astor (age 38) succeeded 3rd Baron Astor.
