Assassination of King James I of Scotland

On 21 Feb 1437 [his grandfather] King James I of Scotland (age 42) was assassinated at Blackfriars. He was buried at Carthusian Charterhouse, Perth. His son [his father] King James II of Scotland (age 6) succeeded II King Scotland. His wife, [his grandmother] Joan Beaufort Queen Consort Scotland (age 33), managed to escape.

On 03 Jul 1449 [his father] King James II of Scotland (age 18) and [his mother] Mary of Guelders Queen Consort Scotland (age 15) were married at Holyrood Abbey, Holyrood. She the daughter of Arnold Egmont 1st Duke Guelders (age 38) and Catherine La Marck (age 32). He the son of King James I of Scotland and Joan Beaufort Queen Consort Scotland. He a great x 2 grandson of King Edward III of England.

Siege of Roxburgh

On 03 Aug 1460 [his father] King James II of Scotland (age 29) was killed accidentally when a cannon exploded and he was hit by debris. He was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Holyrood. His son King James III of Scotland (age 9) succeeded III King Scotland.

And at the departynge of Syr Perys de Brasyl and hys feleschippe was on manly man that purposyd to mete with my Lorde of Warwycke, that was a taberette, for he stode a-pon an hylle with hys tabyr and hys pype, taberyng and pyping as merely as any man myght, stondyng by hym selfe, tylle my lorde come unto hym he wold not lesse hys grownd; and there he be-come my lordys man; ande yet he ys with hym fulle good and to hys lorde.

1463 Siege of Norham Castle

Around Jun 1463 a Scottish and Lancastrian force, including King James III of Scotland (age 11), his mother [his mother] Mary of Guelders Queen Consort Scotland (age 29), King Henry VI of England and II of France (age 41) and his wife Margaret of Anjou Queen Consort England (age 33), laid siege to Norham Castle [Map]. They held Norham for eighteen days until a force led by Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury (age 34) and his brother John Neville 1st Marquess Montagu (age 32) advanced to Norham Castle [Map] at which time the Scottish and Lancastrian force fled in panic pursued by the Yorkist army. Margaret of Anjou Queen Consort England (age 33) and her son Edward of Westinster Prince of Wales (age 9) escaped to Berwick on Tweed [Map] and then to the continent. King Henry VI of England and II of France (age 41) remained in Scotland - he and his wife never saw each other again.

On 01 Dec 1463 [his mother] Mary of Guelders Queen Consort Scotland (age 29) died at Roxburgh Castle, Roxburgh. She was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Holyrood.

Before 26 Apr 1467 Thomas Boyd 1st Earl Arran and [his sister] Mary Stewart Countess Arran (age 13) were married. The marriage arranged by his father, Regent Robert Boyd 1st Lord Boyd (age 47). The King, her elder brother King James III of Scotland (age 15) consider the marriage a great insult. He, Thomas, was subsequently charged with treason and when failing to appear in response to a summons, their marriage was declared null and void, and she was married to James Hamilton 1st Lord Hamilton (age 52). Battle of Sauchieburn
