Biography of Charles Cheyne 1st Viscount Newhaven 1625-1698

After 1625 John Robartes 1st Earl Radnor (age 19) and [his future wife] Letitia Isabella Smythe Countess Radnor were married. She by marriage Baroness Robartes of Truro in Cornwall. The difference in their ages was 24 years.
On 23 Oct 1625 Charles Cheyne 1st Viscount Newhaven was born to Francis Cheyne of Chesham Bois in Buckinghamshire (age 57) and Anne Fleetwood.
On 29 Jan 1640 Charles Cheyne 1st Viscount Newhaven (age 14) matriculated Brasenose College, Oxford University after which he studied at Lincoln's Inn.

On 14 Jul 1657 [his son] William Cheyne 2nd Viscount Newhaven was born to Charles Cheyne 1st Viscount Newhaven (age 31) and [his wife] Jane Cavendish (age 35).
After 14 Jul 1657 Charles Cheyne 1st Viscount Newhaven (age 31) purchased the manor of Chelsea and its main house, Chelsea Place, financed by the dowry of his wife [his wife] Lady Jane Cavendish (age 35). He paid for the house in instalments beginning in 1657 with £1,900 and made the final payment for whole estate in 1661 at a total cost of £13,626.

His son [his former brother-in-law] Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne (age 46) succeeded 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne, 2nd Earl Newcastle upon Tyne, 10th Baron Ogle.Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 46) by marriage Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne.
On 15 Aug 1678 [his former sister-in-law] Frances Cavendish Countess Bolingbroke died.
In 1679 John Robartes 1st Earl Radnor (age 73) was created 1st Earl Radnor, 1st Viscount Bodmin by King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 48) in reward for having supported Charles' brother James II King England, Scotland and Ireland 1633-1701's future accession. She the daughter of [his former brother-in-law] Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne who had died the year before and the widow of Christopher Monck 2nd Duke Albemarle. She the daughter of Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne and Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 62).
On 30 Jun 1698 Charles Cheyne 1st Viscount Newhaven (age 72) died. He was buried at Chelsea Old Church. His son [his son] William Cheyne 2nd Viscount Newhaven (age 40) succeeded 2nd Viscount Newhaven.
On 09 Jul 1714 [his former wife] Letitia Isabella Smythe Countess Radnor (age 84) died.
