Biography of Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness 1622-1692

On 14th October 1616 [his father] Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 17) and [his mother] Grace Rokeby (age 16) were married.

In 1622 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness was born to Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 22) and Grace Rokeby (age 22).

In 1637 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 15) educated University College.

Around 1637 Richard Molyneux 2nd Viscount Molyneux (age 18) and [his future wife] Frances Seymour Countess Southampton (age 19) were married. She by marriage Viscountess Molyneux. She the daughter of William Seymour 2nd Duke of Somerset (age 49) and Frances Devereux Duchess of Somerset (age 37).

In 1640 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 18) educated Gray's Inn.

Before August 1649 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 27) and Catherine Fane (age 24) were married. She the daughter of Francis Fane 1st Earl of Westmoreland and Mary Mildmay Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 50) and Grace Rokeby (age 49). They were fifth cousin once removed.

Around August 1649 [his wife] Catherine Fane (age 24) died.

On 8th February 1650 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 28) and Frances Howard (age 23) were married. She the daughter of Thomas Howard 1st Earl Berkshire (age 62) and Elizabeth Cecil Countess Berkshire (age 54). He the son of Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 51) and Grace Rokeby (age 50). They were half fifth cousin once removed.

Around January 1658 [his mother] Grace Rokeby (age 58) died.

Around 1659 [his son] John Darcy was born to Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 37) and [his wife] Frances Howard (age 32).

On 7th May 1659 Thomas Wriothesley 4th Earl of Southampton 2nd Earl Chichester (age 52) and [his future wife] Frances Seymour Countess Southampton (age 41) were married. She by marriage Countess of Southampton. She the daughter of William Seymour 2nd Duke of Somerset (age 71) and Frances Devereux Duchess of Somerset (age 59). He the son of Henry Wriothesley 3rd Earl of Southampton and Elizabeth Vernon Countess Southampton. They were fifth cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

On 16th July 1669 [his father-in-law] Thomas Howard 1st Earl Berkshire (age 81) died. His son [his brother-in-law] Charles (age 54) succeeded 2nd Earl Berkshire, 2nd Viscount Andover in Hampshire, 2nd Baron Howard of Charlton in Wiltshire. In 1670 [his wife] Frances Howard (age 43) died.

In 1676 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 54) and Frances Seymour Countess Southampton (age 58) were married. She the daughter of William Seymour 2nd Duke of Somerset and Frances Devereux Duchess of Somerset. He the son of Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 76) and Grace Rokeby. They were sixth cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

In January 1681 [his wife] Frances Seymour Countess Southampton (age 63) died. She was buried at Westminster Abbey [Map].

Before 24th November 1681 [his son] John Darcy (age 22) and [his daughter-in-law] Bridget Sutton (age 16) were married. He the son of Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 59) and [his former wife] Frances Howard.

On 8th January 1685 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 63) and Elizabeth Freschville Countess Holderness (age 51) were married. He the son of Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 85) and Grace Rokeby. They were half sixth cousins.

In 1689 [his son] John Darcy (age 30) died.

On 14th June 1689 [his father] Conyers Darcy 1st Earl Holderness (age 90) died. His son Conyers (age 67) succeeded 2nd Earl Holderness, 9th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 6th Baron Conyers, 3rd Baron Darcy of Meinhill. [his wife] Elizabeth Freschville Countess Holderness (age 55) by marriage Countess Holderness.

On 22nd February 1690 [his wife] Elizabeth Freschville Countess Holderness (age 56) died.

On 13th December 1692 Conyers Darcy 2nd Earl Holderness (age 70) died. His grandson [his grandson] Robert (age 11) succeeded 3rd Earl Holderness, 10th Baron Darcy of Knayth, 7th Baron Conyers, 4th Baron Darcy of Meinhill.
