All About History Books
Published March 2025. The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Paternal Family Tree: St Lo
In or before 1518 [his father] John St Lo (age 17) and [his mother] Margaret Kingston were married. They were fifth cousins.
Around 1519 Edward St Lo was born to John St Lo (age 19) and Margaret Kingston at Collingbourne Kingston, Wiltshire [Map].
In May 1556 Edward St Lo (age 37) was imprisoned at the Fleet Prison [Map] for complicity in the Dudley Consipracy.
In 1559 Edward St Lo (age 40) was elected MP Bath.
Before 23rd March 1559 [his father] John St Lo (age 59) died.
Before 1561 Edward St Lo (age 41) and Bridget Malte were married.
Before 1561 John Scutt and [his wife] Bridget Malte were married.
Around March 1561 Bess of Hardwick (age 34) was poisoned. Both [his brother] William St Lo (age 43) and his mother [his mother] Margaret Kingston believed William's younger brother Edward St Lo (age 42) to be guility. Edward St Lo feared he would lose his inheritance if William and Bess had a child. William St Lo, probably as a consequence of his brother's actions, ‘did of very good will toward [his wife] convey [his lands] unto her'. Edward had previously been suspected of poisoning his first wife's husband John Scutt and, following their marriage, his wife [his wife] Bridget Malte.
In January 1565 [his brother] William St Lo (age 47) died suddenly in the company of his brother Edward St Lo (age 46). He was buried in St Helen's Church, Bishopsgate. Given that he had been suspected of poisoning William's wife Bess of Hardwick (age 38) five years before it is possible Edward had poisoned William. Edward St Lo contested his brother's will unsuccessfully.
In 1572 Edward St Lo (age 53) was elected MP Downton.
Before 6th May 1578, the date he was buried at Broad Chalke, Wiltshire [Map], Edward St Lo (age 59) died.
[his daughter] Margaret St Lo was born to Edward St Lo.
[his son] John St Lo was born to Edward St Lo.
[his daughter] Anne St Lo was born to Edward St Lo.
