Biography of Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon 1782-1859

In 1780 [his father] Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham (age 41) and [his mother] Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham (age 23) were married. She by marriage Baroness Grantham. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke (age 59) and [his grandmother] Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey (age 56).

On 1st November 1782 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon was born to Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham (age 43) and Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham (age 26).

On 20th July 1786 [his father] Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham (age 47) died. His son [his brother] Thomas (age 4) succeeded 3rd Baron Grantham.

In 1814 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 31) and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart (age 21) were married. She the daughter of Robert Hobart 4th Earl Buckinghamshire (age 53) and Margaretta Bourke.

On 22nd May 1815 [his daughter] Eleanor Henrietta Robinson was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 32) and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart (age 22).

In September 1816 [his son] Hobart Frederick Robinson was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 33) and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart (age 23).

On 31st October 1826 [his daughter] Eleanor Henrietta Robinson (age 11) died. She has a monument at All Saints' Church, Nocton [Map] sculpted by Richard Westmacott (age 51).

Eleanor Henrietta Robinson: On 22nd May 1815 she was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart.

The King has been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Viscount of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable Frederick John Robinson (age 44), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Viscount Goderich, of Nocton, in the county cf Lincoln.

The King has also been pleased to direct letters. patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto James Earl of Fife, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Baron Fife, of the county Fife.

The King has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable Sir Charles Abbott (age 64), Knt Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the namey stile, and title, of Baron Tenterden, of Hendon, in the county of Middlesex.

The King has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable William Conyngham Plunket (age 62), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Baron Plunket, of Newtown, in, the county of Cork.

In August 1827 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 44) was appointed Prime Minister.

On 24th October 1827 [his son] George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon was born to Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 44) and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart (age 34) at 10 Downing Street, Westminster [Map].

On 9th January 1830 [his mother] Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham (age 73) died. She was buried at the De Grey Mausoleum, Flitton [Map]. Memorial sculpted by W. T. Kelsey.

Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham: On 9th February 1756 she was born to Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke and Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey. In 1780 Thomas Robinson 2nd Baron Grantham and she were married. She by marriage Baroness Grantham. She the daughter of Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke and Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey. In 1816 Amabel Yorke Countess Grey was created 1st Countess de Grey with a special remainder to her sister Mary Jemima Yorke Baroness Grantham and her sister's male heirs.

In 1833 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 50) was created 1st Earl Ripon.

On 8th April 1851 [his son] George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon (age 23) and [his daughter-in-law] Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon (age 17) were married. He the son of Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 68) and [his wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart (age 58). They were first cousin once removed.

On 28th January 1859 Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon (age 76) died. He has a monument at All Saints' Church, Nocton [Map] sculpted by Matthew Noble (age 41). His son [his son] George (age 31) succeeded 2nd Earl Ripon, 2nd Viscount Gooderich of Nocton in Lincolnshire. [his daughter-in-law] Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon (age 25) by marriage Countess Ripon.

Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon: On 17th April 1833 she was born to Henry Vyner and Mary Gertude Robinson. On 8th April 1851 George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon and she were married. He the son of Frederick John Robinson 1st Earl Ripon and Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart. They were first cousin once removed. In 1871 George Frederick Samuel Robinson 1st Marquess Ripon was created 1st Marquess Ripon. She by marriage Marchioness Ripon. On 28th February 1907 Henrietta Anne Theodosia Vyner Marchioness Ripon died.

In 1867 [his former wife] Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart (age 74) died.
