Biography of Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon 1672-1753

In 1665 [his father] Lawrence Hyde 1st Earl Rochester (age 22) and [his mother] Henrietta Boyle Countess Rochester (age 19) were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Richard Boyle 2nd Earl Cork 1st Earl Burlington (age 52) and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Clifford Countess Burlington (age 51). He the son of [his grandfather] Edward Hyde 1st Earl Clarendon (age 55) and [his grandmother] Frances Aylesbury Countess Clarendon (age 47).

In June 1672 Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon was born to Lawrence Hyde 1st Earl Rochester (age 30) and Henrietta Boyle Countess Rochester (age 26).

On 12th April 1687 [his mother] Henrietta Boyle Countess Rochester (age 41) died.

On 8th March 1692 Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 19) and Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon were married. He the son of Lawrence Hyde 1st Earl Rochester (age 50) and Henrietta Boyle Countess Rochester.

Around 1701 [his daughter] Catherine Hyde Duchess Queensbury was born to Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 28) and [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.

On 6th October 1703 [his son] Laurence Hyde was born to Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 31) and [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.

On 27th May 1704 [his son] Laurence Hyde died.

Around 1707 [his daughter] Charlotte Hyde was born to Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 34) and [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.

On 28th November 1710 [his son] Henry Hyde was born to Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 38) and [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.

On 2nd May 1711 [his father] Lawrence Hyde 1st Earl Rochester (age 69) died. His son Henry (age 38) succeeded 2nd Earl Rochester. [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon by marriage Countess Rochester.

On 27th November 1718 [his son-in-law] William Capell 3rd Earl Essex (age 21) and [his daughter] Jane Hyde Countess Essex were married. She by marriage Countess Essex. She the daughter of Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 46) and [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon. He the son of Algernon Capell 2nd Earl Essex and Mary Bentinck Countess Essex (age 39). They were fourth cousins.

On 10th March 1720 [his son-in-law] Charles Douglas 3rd Duke Queensberry (age 21) and [his daughter] Catherine Hyde Duchess Queensbury (age 19) were married. She by marriage Duchess Queensberry. She the daughter of Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 47) and [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon. He the son of James Douglas 2nd Duke Queensberry and Mary Boyle Duchess Queensbury. They were second cousins.

On 31st March 1723 Edward Hyde 3rd Earl Clarendon (age 61) died. His first cousin Henry (age 50) succeeded 4th Earl Clarendon, 4th Baron Hyde of Hindon in Wiltshire 1660. [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon by marriage Countess Clarendon.

In January 1724 [his daughter] Jane Hyde Countess Essex died.

In 1725 [his wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon died.

On 9th November 1737 [his son] Henry Hyde (age 26) and [his daughter-in-law] Frances Lee (age 16) were married. There is some uncertainty whether they married. She the daughter of George Henry Lee 2nd Earl Lichfield (age 47) and Frances Hales Countess Lichfield (age 40). He the son of Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 65) and [his former wife] Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.

On 17th March 1740 [his daughter] Charlotte Hyde (age 33) died.

On 28th May 1753 [his son] Henry Hyde (age 42) died at Paris [Map]. Baron Hyde of Hindon in Wiltshire 1660 extinct. Or the title possibly reverted to his father Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 80).

On 10th December 1753 Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 81) died without male issue. Earl Rochester and Earl Clarendon extinct.

[his daughter] Anne Hyde was born to Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon and Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.
