Roger Whitley's Diary. 18th July 1690. Friday, Huson went to Shrewsbury about the militia horse, soe to Frodesly; Alban Gray came about 12 to speake with me about work at Chester; dined, went past 3; Tomkinson retorned from Staffordshire about 7.
Roger Whitley's Diary. 22nd July 1690. Tuesday, Huson came about 7 from Frodesly; went with Tomkinson to Mold faire about 10; my sonne (age 39), his wife, children & Sidney went to Chester & Aston past 10; some men came with poll money from Manley (past 11) payed it to Houseman; about 2, Palin & 3 others brought wood from Bechin, they did eate in the buttry, & retorned about 3: 23. Wednesday, Tomkinson retorned from Mold; in the evening Radley came to see me; stayd ½ houer;,&c. in the morning Coles of Lichfeild called for some things for Bidolph, went away in a short tyme.

Friday, some women & a yong man came to see Mary Pemberton; 2 of them dined with us in the Compasse; the rest in the buttry; about 4 Mr Smethers brought me a letter from Sir John Crew; he & his lady were then going to Fawsley; Smethers dranck a glasse of ale & retorned; Mawle came from Frodesly, stayd all night; Huson retorned from Mold.

Tuesday, Huson went to Frodesly; Tomkinson & the carts to Dysert; Morgan (about 11) to Chester; Bolton (& one Smith) from Tatenhall dined with us; went about 3; Sefton of Barrow came abt 5 to recommend a servant: I took phisick; the husbandman & howsekeeper came this evening;.

Wednesday, I, sonne (age 39), daughters & Bidolph went to Chester; I & sonne dined with the Judges, (severall lawyers & Newport, &c.interl) then I went (past 2) with the tenant of Aston, Bonnell, Grantham, &c. to Bretland, to speake about the tenant (Yong's) businesse; then I met Taylor at Huson's house; walked thence to Jackson's; met Hurst, Deane, Anderton, G.Mainwaring (age 47) & severall others in the Rowes; at Jackson's were L: Lloyd, Wright, Newport, G.Mainwaring, Vicars, Bellot, Lee of Booth, Nat. Lee, Jones, &c. I left them about 6, went home with daughter & Bidolph the keeper came that night with a doe from Frodesly; my 2 sisters came that night to Peele.

Thursday, Sir Thomas Peirceall went about 9; Mr Newcomen, Bird, Bolton and Wright came from Tatenhall; Angell & a surgeon from Chester; dined, & retorned about 4; soone after came the keeper, & Cadwallader from Frodesly & after them came Frogsall, stayd all night; Hughes retorned about 3.

On 20th September 1797 Reverend Thomas Edwardes 7th Baronet (age 67) died. He was buried at St Mark's Church, Frodesley where hiss memorial has the incription "JULIANA, wife of the Revd Thos EDWARDS Rector, was entombed beneath, July 16th 1778, Aged 56, Also the remains, of the Revd Sr Thos EDWARDES Bart, Rector, were interred 20th Septr 1797, Aged 70". His son John (age 33) succeeded 8th Baronet Edwardes of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. Frances Gask Lady Edwardes (age 32) by marriage Lady Edwardes of Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
On 16th February 1816 Reverend John Thomas Cholmondeley Edwardes 8th Baronet (age 52) died. He was buried at St Mark's Church, Frodesley where his memorial has the inscription "M.S. JOHANNIS THOMAE CHOLMONDELEY EDWARDES, Baronetti, Hugus Parochiae Rectoris, Obiitt 16 February Anno Domini 1816, Aetatis Suae 52, et Dominae Franciscae VIDuae Ejus, Quae obiit 15 Junii Anno Domini 1859, Aetatis Suae 96"
Henry Hope Edwardes 9th Baronet (age 28) succeeded 9th Baronet Edwardes of Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
On 15th July 1859 Frances Gask Lady Edwardes (age 94) died. She was buried at St Mark's Church, Frodesley where her memorial has the inscription: "Here Lyeth, FRANCES Relict of the, Rev. Sir JOHN THOMAS CHOLMONDLEY EDWARDES Bart, and daughter of JOHN GASK Esq of Tickhill County of York. Born 13th October 1764 Died 15th July 1859, Also, FRANCES, Eldest daughter of the Rev. Sir J.T.C. EDWARDES Bart, Born 10th August 1785 Died 20th July 1881, JULIANA, Second daughter of the Rev. Sir J.T.C. EDWARDES Bart, Born 3rd July 1789 Died 23rd July 1872, TREVOR HOPE EDWARDES, Second son of Sir HENRY EDWARDES Bart, Born 25th March 1831 Died 18th February 1878, LENORA Relict of TREVOR HOP EDWARDES, and daughter of Captain GORE BROWN, Born 31st August 1842 Died 29th December 1878, LOUISA MARY ANN EDWARDES, Widow of Sir HENRY EDWARDES Bart, Afterward widow of Major JAMES HENRY MURRAY MARTIN and only daughter of J.T. HOPE Esq of Netley Hall Co. Salop, Born Novbr 21st 1801 Died Septbr 7th 1886, Sir HENRY HOPE EDWARDES, 10th and last Baronet Born April 10th 1828, Died at Wootton Hall Ashbourne, August 24th 1900, Aged 70"
