On 01 Aug 1402 Edmund of Langley 1st Duke of York (age 61) died at King's Langley, Hertfordshire [Map]. On 19 Jun 1312 Piers Gaveston 1st Earl Cornwall (age 28) was taken to Blacklow Hill, Worcestershire where he was beheaded. Blacklow Hill, Worcestershire being outside of the lands of Guy Beauchamp 10th Earl of Warwick (age 40). Gaveston's body was left where it lay eventually being recovered by Dominican friars who took it to King's Langley Priory, Hertfordshire [Map]. Earl Cornwall extinct.

[02 Jan 1315] In the same year, Piers Gaveston, Earl of Cornwall, who had been killed and had not yet been buried but lay unburied at Oxford with the Friars Preachers, was now committed to the earth at Langley [Map] with great honour. For this, the king constructed a church of the Friars Preachers at that place.

On 23 Dec 1392 Isabella of Castile Duchess York (age 37) died. She was buried at King's Langley Priory, Hertfordshire [Map]. She the wife of Edmund of Langley 1st Duke of York (age 51). Isabella had travelled to England with her sister Constance of Castile Duchess of Lancaster (age 38) who had married Edmund's elder brother John of Gaunt 1st Duke Lancaster (age 52). Isabella and Edmund's marriage was not, apparently, a happy one. She is known to have had an affair with John Holland 1st Duke Exeter (age 40) who may have been the father of Richard of Conisbrough 1st Earl Cambridge (age 7) progenitor of the House of York.
On 13 Jan 1393 Isabella of Castile Duchess York was buried at King's Langley Priory, Hertfordshire [Map].
On 14 Feb 1400 (exact date not known) King Richard II (age 33) died at Pontefract Castle [Map] where he had been imprisoned three months before; possibly murdered, possibly starved to death. His death was a consequence of the Epiphany Rising; he was still considered a threat.
Edmund Mortimer 5th Earl March 7th Earl Ulster (age 8) de jure Heir to the Throne of England since he was descended from Philippa Plantagenet Countess March 5th Countess Ulster the daughter of Lionel Plantagenet 1st Duke of Clarence. The new King Henry IV (age 32) ignored his claim. Edmund Mortimer 5th Earl March 7th Earl Ulster and his brother Roger Mortimer (age 6) were imprisoned in Windsor and Berkhamstead castles respectively; they were treated well.
On 17 Feb 1400 Richard's corpse was displayed at St Paul's Cathedral [Map].
