He married his fifth cousin once removed Elizabeth Deincourt, daughter of William Deincourt 3rd Baron Deincourt and Alice Neville Baroness Deincourt, and had issue.

In 1353 Catharine Clinton was born to John Clinton 3rd Baron Clinton [aged 26] and Idonea Saye Baroness Clinton at Maxstoke, Warwickshire.
