The inscription refers to his first wife Mary Mullins and their sons Walter Chetwynd (age 40) and Thomas Chetwynd (age 39), and their daughter Mary Chetwynd who married George Digby, and to his second wife Katherine Hastings (deceased), daughter of George Hastings 4th Earl Huntingdon, who married first Edward Unton

Walter Chetwynd: In 1598 he was born to Walter Chetwynd and Mary Mullins. On 2nd July 1632 Walter Chetwynd and Frances Hesilrige were married at St Dunstan's in the West, Fleet Street [Map]. On 31st May 1638 Walter Chetwynd died. His son Walter Chetwynd inherited Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire. On 19th April 1669 Walter Chetwynd died. His son Walter Chetwynd inherited Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire.
Katherine Hastings: Around 1557 she was born to George Hastings 4th Earl Huntingdon and Dorothy Port Countess Huntingdon. In 1579 Edward Unton and she were married. There were no children from the marriage. She the daughter of George Hastings 4th Earl Huntingdon and Dorothy Port Countess Huntingdon. He the son of Edward Unton and Anne Seymour Countess of Warwick. They were half fifth cousin once removed. On or after 13th April 1605, the date of the licence, Walter Chetwynd and she were married. She the daughter of George Hastings 4th Earl Huntingdon and Dorothy Port Countess Huntingdon. They were fifth cousin once removed. On 25th May 1638 Katherine Hastings died.
On 6th December 1671 Anne Bagot (age 28) died. Monument at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map], right side [her husband Walter Chetwynd (age 39) on left] ...
Anne Bagot: Around 1643 she was born to Edward Bagot 2nd Baronet. On 14th September 1668 Walter Chetwynd and she were married. They had one daughter, Frances, who died aged around ten years.
In 1676 Walter Chetwynd (age 43) commissioned the building of St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map]. The church is attributed to Christopher Wren (age 52) who was a friend of Walter Chetwynd. Pevsner writes: "A drawing by Wren annotated 'Mr Chetwynd's Tower' exists...Wren worked almost exclusively for the King...but in the case of St Mary('s Church, Ingestre) the exquisite quality speaks unequivocally." The church was consecrated in August 1677 with a full day of services with "the Bishop baptizing a child, churching a woman, joining a couple in matrimony and burying another, all on the same day...the idea was to emphasize that this was a Parish Church, and not a private Chapel for the Chetwynd family."
On 21st March 1693 Walter Chetwynd (age 60) died of smallpox. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map]. John Chetwynd of Boughton (age 50) inherited Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire.

John Talbot: Around 1712 he was born to Charles Talbot 1st Baron Talbot and Cecil Mathew Baroness Talbot. On 30th May 1737 John Talbot and Henrietta Decker were married. In August 1748 John Talbot and Catherine Chetwynd were married. On 22nd September 1756 John Talbot died.
John Chetwynd 2nd Viscount Chetwynd: Around 1682 he was born to John Chetwynd of Boughton and Lucy Roane. Before 25th July 1716 John Chetwynd 2nd Viscount Chetwynd and Esther Kent Viscountess Chetwynd were married. On 21st February 1736 Walter Chetwynd 1st Viscount Chetwynd died. His brother John succeeded 2nd Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven in Kerry, and inherited Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire.Esther Kent Viscountess Chetwynd by marriage Viscountess Chetwynd of Bearhaven in Kerry. On 21st June 1767 John Chetwynd 2nd Viscount Chetwynd died. His brother William succeeded 3rd Viscount Chetwynd of Bearhaven in Kerry. Catherine Chetwynd inherited Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire.

Catherine Chetwynd: On 13th September 1722 she was born to John Chetwynd 2nd Viscount Chetwynd and Esther Kent Viscountess Chetwynd. On 20th January 1785 Catherine Chetwynd died. John Chetwynd-Talbot 1st Earl Talbot inherited Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire.
Frances Chetwynd: In March 1726 she was born to John Chetwynd 2nd Viscount Chetwynd and Esther Kent Viscountess Chetwynd. In January 1805 Frances Chetwynd died.
On 3rd January 1819 Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot (age 47) died. Monument at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map] to her and her son Walter who died young commissioned by her husband Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot (age 41).
Before 8th February 1825 John Chetwynd-Talbot (age 45) was appointed Rector of St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map].

John Chetwynd-Talbot: On 4th April 1779 he was born to John Chetwynd-Talbot 1st Earl Talbot and Charlotte Augusta Hill Countess Talbot. Before 8th February 1825 he was appointed Rector of St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map].

Charles Chetwynd-Talbot: In 1802 he was born to Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot and Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot.
After 10th January 1849. Monument at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map] to Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot (deceased). Possibly sculpted by Richard Westmacott (age 73) although he usually signed his works with "R. Westmacott"; this would be unusual for being initials.
On 8th June 1856 Victoria Susan Chetwynd-Talbot (age 25) died at Naples [Map]. Monument at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map] sculpted by Ernesto Cali (age 35).
Victoria Susan Chetwynd-Talbot: On 27th February 1831 she was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford. Adeline Horsey Recollections. Lady Victoria Talbot, who was staying at Gopsall, was very much in love with Lord Anson, and was always trying to make a sketch of him. I got tired of seeing impressions of the Anson profile, full face, three-quarter face, lying about as thick as leaves in Vallambrosa; but Lady Victoria went on blissfully sketching, until one morning her mother discovered the work of the love-smitten amateur artist. "Who did these .'" she demanded, thinking somebody was Anson mad. Lady Victoria apparently dreaded confession, for the Countess seemed by her manner to consider sketching young men rather a fast proceeding. Lady Victoria cast an appealing glance at me - "Miss de Horsey did them, mamma!" I accepted the lie, and after that the Anson sketching mania died a natural death.

After 17th August 1867. St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map]. Grave of Mary Beech, nurse to the family of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury (age 63) for thirty-seven years.
On 4th June 1868 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury (age 64) died. His son Charles (age 38) succeeded 19th Earl of Shrewsbury, 19th Earl Waterford, 4th Earl Talbot, 4th Viscount Ingestre, 6th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire. Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford (age 32) by marriage Countess of Shrewsbury, Countess Waterford, Countess Talbot.

Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 19th Earl of Shrewsbury 4th Earl Talbot: On 13th April 1830 he was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford. On 15th February 1855 Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 19th Earl of Shrewsbury 4th Earl Talbot and Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford were married. He the son of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford. In 1874 he was appointed Privy Council. On 11th May 1877 Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 19th Earl of Shrewsbury 4th Earl Talbot died. His son Charles succeeded 20th Earl of Shrewsbury, 20th Earl Waterford, 5th Earl Talbot, 5th Viscount Ingestre, 7th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire.
Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford: On 20th February 1836 she was born to Richard Howe Cockerell and Theresa Howe Newcomen. On 29th July 1912 Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford died.

Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford: On 8th November 1807 she was born to Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford. In 1828 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and she were married. She the daughter of Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford. He the son of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot and Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot. They were fifth cousins. On 10th January 1849 Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot died at Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire. His son Henry succeeded 3rd Earl Talbot, 3rd Viscount Ingestre, 5th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire. She by marriage Countess Talbot.

Before 3rd July 1888 William Chetwynd-Talbot and Eleanora Julia were married. He the son of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot and Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot.
Eleanora Julia: In 1823 she was born to William James Coventry. On 15th December 1897 Eleanora Julia died. She was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map].

On 23rd April 1904 Charles Chetwynd-Talbot and Winifred Contance Hester Paget were married. He the son of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 20th Earl of Shrewsbury 5th Earl Talbot and Ellen Palmer Morewood Countess Shrewsbury Waterford Talbot.
