Published March 2025. The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 14th August 1720 Frederick Hesse-Kassel was born to William Hesse-Kassel (age 38) at Kassel.

On 8th May 1740 Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 19) and Mary Hanover (age 17) were married. She the daughter of King George II (age 56). She the daughter of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland and Caroline Hohenzollern Queen Consort England. He the son of William Hesse-Kassel (age 58). They were fourth cousins.

1741 Creation of Garter Knights

In 1741 [his father-in-law] King George II of Great Britain and Ireland (age 57) created new Garter Knights as follows:

554th Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 20). Probably as a consequence of his having married the daughter of King George II.

555th Charles Beauclerk 2nd Duke St Albans (age 44),

556th Charles Spencer 3rd Duke of Marlborough (age 34),

557th Evelyn Pierrepont 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 30),

558th William Bentinck 2nd Duke Portland (age 31),

On 25th December 1741 [his son] William Hesse-Kassel was born to Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 21) and [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 18). He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 1st July 1742 [his son] William Hesse-Kassel died.

On 3rd June 1743 [his son] William Elector of Hesse was born to Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 22) and [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 20). He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 11th December 1743 Frederick V King Denmark and Norway (age 20) and [his sister-in-law] Louise Hanover Queen Consort Denmark and Norway (age 18) were married. She by marriage Queen Consort Denmark and Norway. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] King George II of Great Britain and Ireland (age 60) and Caroline Hohenzollern Queen Consort England. He the son of Christian VI King Denmark and Norway (age 44). They were third cousin once removed.

On 19th December 1744 [his son] Charles Hesse-Kassel was born to Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 24) and [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 21) at Kassel. He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

Battle of Fontenoy

On 11th May 1745 the allied army commanded by [his brother-in-law] William Augustus Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland (age 24) was defeated by a French army at the Battle of Fontenay.

George Cholmondeley (age 20), George Keppel 3rd Earl Albermarle (age 21), Joseph Yorke 1st Baron Dover (age 20) and John Waldegrave 3rd Earl Waldegrave (age 27) fought.

Henry Ponsonby (age 60), James Dillon and Robert Douglas were killed.

George Sackville aka Germain 1st Viscount Sackville (age 29) led the charge of the Duke of Cumberland's infantry leading his regiment so deep into the French lines that when he was wounded and captured he was taken to the tent of Louis XV.

Louis 6th Duke of Gramont (age 55) was killed. His son Antoine (age 23) succeeded 7th Duke Gramont.

Battle of Culloden

On 16th April 1746 an English army commanded by [his brother-in-law] William Augustus Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland (age 24) and John Mordaunt (age 37) defeated the Scottish army of Charles Edward "Bonnie Prince Charlie" Stewart (age 25) at the Battle of Culloden bring to an end the Jacobite Rising of 1745.

Bluett Wallop (age 19) fought.

Robert Kerr was killed.

William Boyd 4th Earl Kilmarnock (age 40) was captured.

Alexander Bannerman 3rd Baronet fought and escapted to France where he died a year later.

Around 1747 Joseph Yorke 1st Baron Dover (age 22) was appointed Aide-de-Camp to [his brother-in-law] William Augustus Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland (age 25).

On 11th September 1747 [his son] Frederick Hesse-Kassel was born to Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 27) and [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 24). He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 31st March 1751 [his brother-in-law] Frederick Louis Hanover Prince of Wales (age 44) died at Leicester House.

On 19th December 1751 [his sister-in-law] Louise Hanover Queen Consort Denmark and Norway (age 27) died.

On 1st February 1760 [his father] William Hesse-Kassel (age 77) died. His son Frederick (age 39) succeeded II Landgrave Hesse Kassel. [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 36) by marriage Landgravine Hesse Kassel.

On 1st September 1764 [his son] William Elector of Hesse (age 21) and [his daughter-in-law] Electress Wilhelmina Caroline Oldenburg (age 17) were married at Christiansborg Castle. She the daughter of Frederick V King Denmark and Norway (age 41) and [his sister-in-law] Louise Hanover Queen Consort Denmark and Norway. He the son of Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 44) and [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 41). They were first cousins. He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland. She a granddaughter of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 31st October 1765 [his brother-in-law] William Augustus Hanover 1st Duke Cumberland (age 44) died unmarried. Duke Cumberland extinct. He was buried at King Henry VII Chapel, Westminster Abbey [Map].

On 30th August 1766 [his son] Charles Hesse-Kassel (age 21) and [his daughter-in-law] Louise Oldenburg (age 16) were married at Christiansborg Castle. She the daughter of Frederick V King Denmark and Norway and [his sister-in-law] Louise Hanover Queen Consort Denmark and Norway. He the son of Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 46) and [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 43). They were first cousins. He a grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland. She a granddaughter of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 14th January 1772 [his wife] Mary Hanover (age 48) died.

On 10th January 1773 Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 52) and Princess Philippine Hohenzollern (age 27) were married. No issue. The difference in their ages was 25 years. He the son of William Hesse-Kassel. They were third cousins. She a great granddaughter of King George I of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 31st October 1785 Frederick Hesse-Kassel (age 65) died. His son [his son] William (age 42) succeeded IX Landgrave Hesse Kassel. [his daughter-in-law] Electress Wilhelmina Caroline Oldenburg (age 38) by marriage Landgravine Hesse Kassel.

On 1st May 1800 [his former wife] Princess Philippine Hohenzollern (age 54) died.
