On 15 May 1459 James Douglas 1st Earl Morton and [her sister-in-law] Joan Stewart Countess Morton (age 31) were married. She by marriage Countess Morton. She the daughter of King James I of Scotland and Joan Beaufort Queen Consort Scotland. They were first cousin once removed. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

Around 1460 [her daughter] Princess Margaret Stewart was born to [her husband] King James II of Scotland (age 29) and Mary of Guelders Queen Consort Scotland (age 26). She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

1460 Siege of Roxburgh

On 03 Aug 1460 [her husband] King James II of Scotland (age 29) was killed accidentally whilst besieging Roxburgh Castle when a cannon exploded and he was hit by debris. He was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Holyrood. His son [her son] King James III of Scotland (age 9) succeeded III King Scotland.

William Douglas 3rd Lord Drumlanrig (age 20) was present.

1462 Siege of Norham Castle

Around Jun 1462 a Scottish and Lancastrian force, including [her son] King James III of Scotland (age 10), his mother Mary of Guelders Queen Consort Scotland (age 28), King Henry VI of England and II of France (age 40) and his wife Margaret of Anjou Queen Consort England (age 32), laid siege to Norham Castle [Map]. They held Norham for eighteen days until a force led by Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury (age 33) and his brother John Neville 1st Marquess Montagu (age 31) advanced to Norham Castle [Map] at which time the Scottish and Lancastrian force fled in panic pursued by the Yorkist army. Margaret of Anjou Queen Consort England and her son Edward of Westminster Prince of Wales (age 8) escaped to Berwick on Tweed, Northumberland [Map] and then to the continent. King Henry VI of England and II of France remained in Scotland - he and his wife never saw each other again.

On 01 Dec 1463 Mary of Guelders Queen Consort Scotland (age 29) died at Roxburgh Castle, Roxburgh. She was buried at Holyrood Abbey, Holyrood.
