Biography of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge 1744-1812

In 1737 [his father] Nicholas Bayly 2nd Baronet Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey (age 28) and [his mother] Caroline Paget Lady Plas Newydd Anglesey (age 30) were married. She by marriage Lady Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey.

On 18th June 1744 Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge was born to Nicholas Bayly 2nd Baronet Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey (age 35) and Caroline Paget Lady Plas Newydd Anglesey (age 37).

On 6th February 1766 [his mother] Caroline Paget Lady Plas Newydd Anglesey (age 59) died.

In 1767 Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 22) and Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 25) were married.

On 17th May 1768 [his son] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 23) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 26).

On 16th November 1769 Henry Paget 2nd Earl Uxbridge (age 50) died. Earl Uxbridge, Baron Burton extinct. His third cousin Henry (age 25) succeeded 9th Baron Paget Beaudasert.

On 22nd December 1769 [his son] William Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 25) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 27).

On 15th January 1771 [his son] Arthur Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 26) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 29).

On 6th February 1773 [his daughter] Caroline Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 28) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 31).

On 1st September 1774 [his daughter] Jane Paget Countess Galloway was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 30) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 32).

On 3rd November 1775 [his son] General Edward Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 31) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 33).

On 26th March 1777 [his daughter] Louisa Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 32) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 35).

On 7th October 1778 [his son] Vice Admiral Charles Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 34) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 36).

On 2nd January 1780 [his son] Berkeley Thomas Paget was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 35) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 38).

On 26th October 1781 [his daughter] Charlotte Paget Countess Enniskillen was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 37) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 39).

On 9th December 1782 [his father] Nicholas Bayly 2nd Baronet Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey (age 73) died. His son Henry (age 38) succeeded 3rd Baronet Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey. [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 40) by marriage Lady Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey.

On 9th April 1783 [his daughter] Mary Paget Baroness Graves was born to Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 38) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 41).

On 19th May 1784 Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 39) was created 1st Earl Uxbridge. [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 42) by marriage Countess Uxbridge.

In September 1794 [his son] William Paget (age 24) died.

On 5th July 1795 [his son] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 27) and [his daughter-in-law] Caroline Elizabeth Villiers Duchess Argyll (age 20) were married. She the daughter of George Bussy Villiers 4th Earl Jersey (age 60) and Frances Twysden (age 42). He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 51) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 53).

In April 1797 [his son-in-law] George Stewart 8th Earl Galloway (age 29) and [his daughter] Jane Paget Countess Galloway (age 22) were married. She the daughter of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 52) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 55). He the son of John Stewart 7th Earl Galloway (age 61) and Anne Dashwood Countess Galloway (age 54).

In 1801 [his son-in-law] James Erskine (age 28) and [his daughter] Louisa Paget (age 23) were married. She the daughter of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 56) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 59).

Before 1803 [his son-in-law] John Thomas Capell (age 33) and [his daughter] Caroline Paget (age 29) were married. She the daughter of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 58) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 60). He the son of William Anne Capell 4th Earl Essex and Harriet Bladen Countess Essex (age 67).

In 1803 [his son-in-law] Thomas North Graves 2nd Baron Graves (age 27) and [his daughter] Mary Paget Baroness Graves (age 19) were married. She by marriage Baroness Graves of Gravesend in Londonderry. She the daughter of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 58) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 61).

In 1805 [his son-in-law] John Cole 2nd Earl Enniskillen (age 36) and [his daughter] Charlotte Paget Countess Enniskillen (age 23) were married. She by marriage Countess Enniskillen. She the daughter of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 60) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 63). He the son of William Willoughby Cole 1st Earl Enniskillen and Anne Lowry-Corry Countess Enniskillen.

Before 15th July 1806 [his son] Vice Admiral Charles Paget (age 27) and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Araminta Monck (age 19) were married. He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 62) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 64).

Before 1809 [his son] Berkeley Thomas Paget (age 28) and [his daughter-in-law] Sophia Askell Bucknall were married. He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 64) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 66).

In 1809 [his son] Arthur Paget (age 37) and [his daughter-in-law] Augusta Fane Baroness Boringdon (age 23) were married. She the daughter of John Fane 10th Earl of Westmoreland (age 49) and Sarah Anne Child Countess of Westmoreland. He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 64) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 67).

On 29th November 1810 [his son] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 42) and [his daughter-in-law] Caroline Elizabeth Villiers Duchess Argyll (age 35) were divorced by an act of Parliament as a result of his having had an affair with [his future daughter-in-law] Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 29) whose husband Henry Wellesley 1st Baron Cowley (age 37) also sought a divorce.

After 19th December 1810 [his son] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 42) and [his daughter-in-law] Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 29) were married. She the daughter of Charles Sloane Cadogan 1st Earl Cadogan and Mary Churchill Countess Cadogan (age 52). He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 66) and [his wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 68).

On 13th March 1812 Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 67) died. He was buried at Lichfield Cathedral [Map]. His son [his son] Henry (age 43) succeeded 2nd Earl Uxbridge, 10th Baron Paget Beaudasert, 4th Baronet Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey.

On 9th March 1817 [his former wife] Jane Champagné Countess Uxbridge (age 75) died.
