Biography of James Cecil 3rd Earl Salisbury 1648-1683

Before 1648 [his father] Charles Cecil (age 28) and [his mother] Diana Maxwell were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] James Maxwell 1st Earl Dirletoun. He the son of [his grandfather] William Cecil 2nd Earl Salisbury (age 56) and [his grandmother] Catherine Howard Countess Salisbury (age 57).

In 1648 James Cecil 3rd Earl Salisbury was born to Charles Cecil (age 29) and Diana Maxwell.

In 1660 [his father] Charles Cecil (age 41) died.

In 1661 James Cecil 3rd Earl Salisbury (age 13) and Margaret Manners Countess of Salisbury were married. She the daughter of John Manners 8th Earl of Rutland (age 56) and Frances Montagu Countess Rutland (age 47).

On 08 Jan 1673 [his brother-in-law] John Manners 1st Duke Rutland (age 34) and Catherine Noel Duchess Rutland (age 16) were married. In 1679 [his brother-in-law] John Manners 1st Duke Rutland (age 40) was created 1st Baron Manners of Haddon in Derbyshire.

On 29 Sep 1679 [his father-in-law] John Manners 8th Earl of Rutland (age 75) died at Nether Haddon [Map]. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Bottesford, Leicestershire [Map].
