Biography of William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet 1665-1740

Paternal Family Tree: Williams Wynn

On 14th April 1664 [his father] William Williams 1st Baronet (age 30) and [his mother] Margaret Kyffin were married. They had four sons and one daughter.

Around 1665 William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet was born to William Williams 1st Baronet (age 31) and Margaret Kyffin.

On 6th June 1687 William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 22) and Jane Thelwall were married.

Around 1692 [his son] Watkin Williams-Wynn 3rd Baronet was born to William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 27) and [his wife] Jane Thelwall.

On 11th July 1700 [his father] William Williams 1st Baronet (age 66) died. He was buried at Llansilin. His son William (age 35) succeeded 2nd Baronet Williams of Gray's Inn.

In 1704 William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 39) was appointed High Sheriff of Montgomeryshire.

In 1706 [his wife] Jane Thelwall died.

After 1706 William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 41) and Catherine Davies were married.

In 1708 William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 43) was elected MP Denbigh Boroughs.

On 11th January 1719 John Wynn 5th Baronet (age 91) died without issue. Baronet Wynn of Gwydir extinct. He bequeathed his estates, the second or third largest in Wales, to his second-cousin once-removed [his former wife] Jane Thelwall, who had predeceased him, daughter of his great-aunt Sydney Wynn (age 79). By doing so the his estates and the Williams estates of her former husband William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 54), also the second or third largest in Wales, were combined into the largest estate in Wales which far execeeded any other. At this time William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet changed his surname from Williams to Williams-Wynn.

On 20th October 1740 William Williams-Wynn 2nd Baronet (age 75) died. His son [his son] Watkin (age 48) succeeded 3rd Baronet Williams of Gray's Inn.
