In December 1589 William Clopton [aged 48] died. His half-brother Thomas Clopton [aged 27] inherited Kentwell Hall, Long Melford.
On or before 2nd March 1612 Anne Clopton was born to William Clopton of Kentwell Hall [aged 20] in Kentwell Hall, Long Melford. She was baptised 2nd March 1612. She married 24th October 1626 Simonds D'Ewes 1st Baronet.
Memorial at Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford [Map] to Elizabeth Parker, wife of John Oxley Parker, daughter of Robert Service, who died at Kentwell Hall, Long Melford on 14th January 1883 aged fifty-eight.
In 1554 William Cordell [aged 32] bought the manor of Long Melford and other lands, formerly owned by Bury St Edmunds Abbey, from the crown and started building Melford Hall, Long Melford [Map]. he entertained Queen Elizabeth I of England and Ireland [aged 20] there in 1578/
In 1786 Harry Parker 6th Baronet [aged 51] bought Melford Hall, Long Melford [Map].
