He the son of [his grandfather] Spencer Compton 2nd Earl of Northampton and [his grandmother] Mary Beaumont Countess of Northampton [aged 43]. They were half fourth cousins.
After 1647 [his father] James Compton 3rd Earl of Northampton [aged 24] and [his mother] Mary Noel Countess Northampton were married. She by marriage Countess of Northampton. He the son of [his grandfather] Spencer Compton 2nd Earl of Northampton and [his grandmother] Mary Beaumont Countess of Northampton [aged 43].
Around 1673 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington was born to James Compton 3rd Earl of Northampton [aged 50] and Mary Noel Countess Northampton.
On 15th December 1681 [his father] James Compton 3rd Earl of Northampton [aged 59] died. His son [his brother] George [aged 17] succeeded 4th Earl of Northampton, 5th Baron Compton of Compton in Warwickshire.
Around 1685 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 12] educated at St Paul's School.
On 7th March 1685 [his brother-in-law] Charles Sackville 6th Earl Dorset 1st Earl Middlesex [aged 42] and [his sister] Mary Compton Countess Dorset and Middlesex [aged 16] were married. She by marriage Countess Dorset, Countess Middlesex. The difference in their ages was 25 years. She the daughter of [his father] James Compton 3rd Earl of Northampton and [his mother] Mary Noel Countess Northampton. He the son of Richard Sackville 5th Earl Dorset and Frances Cranfield Countess Dorset [aged 63]. They were sixth cousins.
In 1686 [his brother] George Compton 4th Earl of Northampton [aged 21] and [his sister-in-law] Jane Fox Countess Northampton [aged 17] were married. He the son of [his father] James Compton 3rd Earl of Northampton and [his mother] Mary Noel Countess Northampton.
Around 1687 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 14] educated at Trinity College, Oxford University.
Around 1689 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 16] admitted at Middle Temple.
On 6th August 1691 [his sister] Mary Compton Countess Dorset and Middlesex [aged 22] died of smallpox.
In 1698 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 25] was elected MP Eye.

In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. On 25th January 1727 Thomas Spencer Wilson 6th Baronet was born to Thomas Wilson 4th Baronet [aged 45]. His forenames Thomas and Spencer from his godfathers Thomas Pelham Holles 1st Duke Newcastle-under-Lyne [aged 33] and Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 54].
On 15th April 1727 [his brother] George Compton 4th Earl of Northampton [aged 62] died. His son [his nephew] James [aged 39] succeeded 5th Earl of Northampton. Elizabeth Shirley Countess Northampton [aged 32] by marriage Countess of Northampton.
In 1728 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 55] was created 1st Baron Wilmington of Wilmington in Sussex.
In 1730 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 57] was created 1st Earl Wilmington, 1st Viscount Pevensey.
In 1733 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 60] was appointed 551st Knight of the Garter by King George II of Great Britain and Ireland [aged 49]. as a reward for not following through with his threat to resign over the Excise Crisis.
On 16th February 1742 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 69] was appointed Prime Minister.
On 2nd July 1743 Spencer Compton 1st Earl Wilmington [aged 70] died. Earl Wilmington, Viscount Pevensey and Baron Wilmington of Wilmington in Sussex extinct.
