John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland 1662-1752

On 17th December 1657 [his father] John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 21] and [his mother] Mary Rich [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Henry Rich 1st Earl Holland and [his grandmother] Isabel Cope Countess Holland.

On 19th November 1662 John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland was born to John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 26] and Mary Rich [aged 26] at Bredalbane.

On 8th February 1666 [his mother] Mary Rich [aged 30] died.

In 1678 [his father] John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 41] and [his step-mother] Mary Campbell Countess Caithness, Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 43] were married. She the daughter of Archibald Campbell 1st Marquess Argyll and Margaret Douglas Marchioness Argyll [aged 68]. They were fifth cousin once removed.

On 13th August 1681 [his father] John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 45] was created 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland. [his step-mother] Mary Campbell Countess Caithness, Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 47] by marriage Countess Breadalbaine and Holland.

In 1685 John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 22] and Frances Cavendish [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne [aged 54] and Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne [aged 54]. He the son of John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 48] and Mary Rich.

On 4th February 1690 [his wife] Frances Cavendish [aged 29] died.

On 23rd May 1695 John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 32] and Henrietta Villiers Countess Breadalbaine and Holland were married. He the son of John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 58] and Mary Rich. They were sixth cousins.

On 25th November 1695 George Hamilton 1st Earl Orkney [aged 29] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Villiers Countess Orkney [aged 38] were married. He the son of William Hamilton 1st Duke Hamilton and Anne Hamilton 3rd Duchess Hamilton [aged 63]. They were half second cousin once removed.

In 1696 George Hamilton 1st Earl Orkney [aged 29] was created 1st Earl Orkney. [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Villiers Countess Orkney [aged 39] by marriage Countess Orkney.

On 10th March 1696 [his son] John Campbell 3rd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland was born to John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 33] and [his wife] Henrietta Villiers Countess Breadalbaine and Holland. He married (1) 20th February 1718 Amabel Grey, daughter of Henry Grey 1st Duke Kent and Jemima Crew Marchioness Kent, and had issue (2) 23rd January 1730 Arbella Pershall Countess Breadalbaine and Holland and had issue.

In 1697 [his brother-in-law] Edward Villiers 1st Earl Jersey [aged 41] was created 1st Earl Jersey probably as a consequence of his sister [his sister-in-law] Barbara Villiers Viscountess Fitzhardinge [aged 43] being a mistress of King William III of England, Scotland and Ireland [aged 46]. Barbara Chiffinch Countess Jersey [aged 34] by marriage Countess Jersey.

On 25th August 1711 [his brother-in-law] Edward Villiers 1st Earl Jersey [aged 55] died. His son William [aged 29] succeeded 2nd Earl Jersey, 2nd Viscount Villiers, 2nd Baron Villiers.

On 19th March 1717 [his father] John Campbell 1st Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 80] died. His son John [aged 54] succeeded 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland. [his wife] Henrietta Villiers Countess Breadalbaine and Holland by marriage Countess Breadalbaine and Holland.

On 20th February 1718 John Campbell 3rd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 21] and Amabel Grey [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of Henry Grey 1st Duke Kent [aged 47] and Jemima Crew Marchioness Kent [aged 42]. He the son of John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 55] and Henrietta Villiers Countess Breadalbaine and Holland.

On 1st February 1720 [his wife] Henrietta Villiers Countess Breadalbaine and Holland died.

On 23rd January 1730 John Campbell 3rd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 33] and Arbella Pershall Countess Breadalbaine and Holland were married. He the son of John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 67] and Henrietta Villiers Countess Breadalbaine and Holland.

On 23rd February 1752 John Campbell 2nd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland [aged 89] died. His son John [aged 55] succeeded 3rd Earl Breadalbaine and Holland. Arbella Pershall Countess Breadalbaine and Holland by marriage Countess Breadalbaine and Holland.
