In 1825 [his father] John Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 2nd Baron Wharncliffe [aged 23] and [his mother] Georgiana Elizabeth Ryder Baroness Wharncliffe [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Dudley Ryder 1st Earl of Harrowby [aged 62] and [his grandmother] Susanna Leveson-Gower Countess Harrowby Lincolnshire [aged 52]. They were third cousin once removed.

On 15th December 1827 Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe was born to John Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 2nd Baron Wharncliffe [aged 26] and Georgiana Elizabeth Ryder Baroness Wharncliffe [aged 23].

On 19th December 1845 [his grandfather] James Archibald Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Baron Wharncliffe [aged 69] died. He was buried at the Church of St Leonard, Wortley [Map].His son [his father] John [aged 44] succeeded 2nd Baron Wharncliffe of Wortley in Yorkshire. [his mother] Georgiana Elizabeth Ryder Baroness Wharncliffe [aged 41] by marriage Baroness Wharncliffe of Wortley in Yorkshire.

On 25th August 1847 [his brother-in-law] Henry Seymour Moore 3rd Marquess Drogheda [aged 22] and [his sister] Mary Caroline Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie Marchioness Drogheda [aged 20] were married. She by marriage Marchioness Drogheda. They were third cousins. He a great x 4 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

In 1855 Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe [aged 27] and Susan Charlotte Lascelles Countess Wharncliffe [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of Henry Lascelles 3rd Earl Harewood [aged 57] and Louisa Thynne Countess Harewood [aged 53]. They were sixth cousins.

On 22nd October 1855 [his father] John Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 2nd Baron Wharncliffe [aged 54] died. He was buried at the Church of St Leonard, Wortley [Map].His son Edward [aged 27] succeeded 3rd Baron Wharncliffe of Wortley in Yorkshire.

On 22nd February 1857 [his father-in-law] Henry Lascelles 3rd Earl Harewood [aged 59] died. His son [his brother-in-law] Henry [aged 32] succeeded 4th Earl Harewood in Yorkshire, 4th Viscount Lascelles, 4th Baron Harewood of Harewood in Yorkshire.

On 21st April 1858 [his brother-in-law] Henry Thynne Lascelles 4th Earl Harewood [aged 33] and Diana Smyth Countess Harewood [aged 20] were married. She by marriage Countess Harewood in Yorkshire. He the son of [his father-in-law] Henry Lascelles 3rd Earl Harewood and [his mother-in-law] Louisa Thynne Countess Harewood [aged 57].

On 14th January 1876...

William Neville 1st Marquess Abergavenny [aged 49] was created 1st Marquess Abergavenny, 1st Earl Lewes. Caroline Vanden Bempte Johnston Marchioness Abergavenny by marriage Marchioness Abergavenny.

Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe [aged 48] was created 1st Earl Wharncliffe. [his wife] Susan Charlotte Lascelles Countess Wharncliffe [aged 42] by marriage Countess Wharncliffe.

John Ormsby-Gore 1st Baron Harlech [aged 59] was created 1st Baron Harlech with remainder to his brother William in the absence of male heirs.

Henry Gerard Sturt 1st Baron Alington [aged 50] was created 1st Baron Alington. Augusta Bingham Baroness Alington [aged 43] by marriage Baroness Alington.

The Queen has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignities of an Earl and Marquess of the said United Kingdom to William, Earl of Abergavenny [aged 49], and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the names, styles, and titles of Earl of Lewes, in the County of Sussex, and Marquess of Abergavenny, in the County of Monmonth.

The Queen has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignities of a Viscount and Earl of the said United Kingdom to Edward Montagu Stuart Granville, Lord Wharncliffe [aged 48], and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the names, styles, and titles of Viscount Carlton, of Carlton, and Earl of Wharncliffe, bdth in the West Riding of the County of York; with remainder, in default of such issue male, to the Honourable [his brother] Francis Dudley Stuart-Wortley [aged 46] (brother of the said Edward Montagu Stuart Granville, Lord Wharncliffe), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten.

The Queen has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom to John, Earl of Erne [aged 73], in that part of the said United Kingdom called Ireland, K.P., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Fermanagh, of Lisnaskea, in the County of Fermanagh.

Anne Boleyn. Her Life as told by Lancelot de Carle's 1536 Letter.

In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

1884. Edward Coley Burne-Jones 1st Baronet [aged 50]. "King Cophetua and the Beggar Maid". Model probably the artist's wife Georgiana Macdonald Lady Burne-Jones [aged 43] or Julia Prinsep Jackson [aged 37]. Inspired by Tennyson's [aged 74] poem The Beggar Maid. The painting was purchased Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe [aged 56].

On 22nd August 1884 [his mother] Georgiana Elizabeth Ryder Baroness Wharncliffe [aged 80] died. She was buried at the Church of St Leonard, Wortley [Map].

On 2nd April 1896 [his sister] Mary Caroline Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie Marchioness Drogheda [aged 69] died.

On 13th May 1899 Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe [aged 71] died without issue. His nephew Francis [aged 42] succeeded 2nd Earl Wharncliffe, 4th Baron Wharncliffe of Wortley in Yorkshire. Ellen Gallwey Countess of Wharncliffe [aged 36] by marriage Countess Wharncliffe.

In 1927 [his former wife] Susan Charlotte Lascelles Countess Wharncliffe [aged 93] died.
