Before 30th July 1776 [his father] Matthias Kerrison [aged 34] and [his mother] Mary Barnes were married.

On 30th July 1776 Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet was born to Matthias Kerrison [aged 34] and Mary Barnes at his parents home Hoxne Hall.

On 20th October 1810 Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet [aged 34] and Mary Martha Ellice were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square.

Battle of Waterloo

On 18th June 1815 the Battle of Waterloo was fought.

Beaumont Hotham 3rd Baron Hotham [aged 20] was present.

Charles Augustus Fitzroy [aged 19] was wounded.

Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Edward Irby [aged 31] fought.

Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey [aged 47] led the charge of the British heavy cavalry against Comte d'Erlon's column which checked and in part routed the French Army. He was hit by one of the last cannon shots of the day necessitating the amputation of this leg during the Battle of Quatre Bras.

Fletcher Norton 3rd Baron Grantley [aged 16] fought and was wounded.

Charles Francis Rowley Lascelles fought.

Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet [aged 38] commanded his Regiment.

George Orlando Gunning [aged 18] was killed whilst serving as a Lieutenant in the 10th Hussars.

On 19th June 1815 Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Gordon [aged 29] died having had his leg amputated the previous day.

Charles Henry Farrington 2nd Baronet [aged 20] fought.

On 2nd January 1821 [his son] Edward Kerrison 2nd Baronet was born to Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet [aged 44] and [his wife] Mary Martha Ellice at Wick House, Brighton. He married 23rd July 1844 Caroline Margaret Fox-Strangways Lady Kerrison, daughter of Henry Fox-Strangways 3rd Earl of Ilchester and Caroline Leonora Murray Countess Ilchester.

In 1834 [his son-in-law] Philip Stanhope 5th Earl Stanhope [aged 28] and [his daughter] Emily Harriet Countess Stanhope were married. He the son of Philip Henry Stanhope 4th Earl Stanhope [aged 52] and Catherine Lucy Smith Countess Stanhope.

In 1836 [his son-in-law] John Henniker-Major 4th Baron Henniker [aged 34] and [his daughter] Anna Kerrison were married.

On 23rd July 1844 [his son] Edward Kerrison 2nd Baronet [aged 23] and [his daughter-in-law] Caroline Margaret Fox-Strangways Lady Kerrison [aged 25] were married. There was no issue from the marriage. She the daughter of Henry Fox-Strangways 3rd Earl of Ilchester [aged 57] and Caroline Leonora Murray Countess Ilchester.

Memoires of Jacques du Clercq

This is a translation of the 'Memoires of Jacques du Clercq', published in 1823 in two volumes, edited by Frederic, Baron de Reissenberg. In his introduction Reissenberg writes: 'Jacques du Clercq tells us that he was born in 1424, and that he was a licentiate in law and a counsellor to Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy, in the castellany of Douai, Lille, and Orchies. It appears that he established his residence at Arras. In 1446, he married the daughter of Baldwin de la Lacherie, a gentleman who lived in Lille. We read in the fifth book of his Memoirs that his father, also named Jacques du Clercq, had married a lady of the Le Camelin family, from Compiègne. His ancestors, always attached to the counts of Flanders, had constantly served them, whether in their councils or in their armies.' The Memoires cover a period of nineteen years beginning in in 1448, ending in in 1467. It appears that the author had intended to extend the Memoirs beyond that date; no doubt illness or death prevented him from carrying out this plan. As Reissenberg writes the 'merit of this work lies in the simplicity of its narrative, in its tone of good faith, and in a certain air of frankness which naturally wins the reader’s confidence.' Du Clercq ranges from events of national and international importance, including events of the Wars of the Roses in England, to simple, everyday local events such as marriages, robberies, murders, trials and deaths, including that of his own father in Book 5; one of his last entries.

Before 1852 Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet [aged 75] was elected MP Eye.

On 9th March 1853 Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet [aged 76] died. His succeeded son Edward [aged 32] succeeded 2nd Baronet Kerrison of Wyke-House in Sussex. Caroline Margaret Fox-Strangways Lady Kerrison [aged 34] by marriage Lady Kerrison of Wyke-House in Sussex.

[his daughter] Anna Kerrison was born to Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet and Mary Martha Ellice. She married 1836 John Henniker-Major 4th Baron Henniker, son of John Minet Henniker-Major 3rd Baron Henniker, and had issue.

[his daughter] Emily Harriet Countess Stanhope was born to Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet and Mary Martha Ellice. She married 1834 Philip Stanhope 5th Earl Stanhope, son of Philip Henry Stanhope 4th Earl Stanhope and Catherine Lucy Smith Countess Stanhope, and had issue.

[his daughter] Agnes Burrell Kerrison Baroness Hanbury was born to Edward Kerrison 1st Baronet and Mary Martha Ellice. She married 13th May 1854 William Bateman-Hanbury 2nd Baron Bateman, son of William Bateman-Hanbury 1st Baron Bateman.
