Reading Mercury, 4th November 1939: DECREE NISI FOR HENLEY WOMAN. In an undefended suit in the Divorce Court on Monday Mr. Justice Hodson granted a decree nisi, with custody of the child of the marriage, and costs to Mrs. Barbara Champion de Crespigny, living at River Terrace, Henley-on-Thames, who charged her husband, Mr. Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny, with adultery. The marriage was at the Register Office, St. Martin’s, London, in 1930. Mrs. Champion de Crespigny's case was that trouble arose because of her husband’s conduct, and, as he could not maintain her, she secured employment as manageress of some service flats. The respondent left her in December last year, and in March he sent her a letter enclosing a hotel bill. Mrs. Champion de Crespigny now alleged that her husband had stayed with another woman at a London hotel. Evidence in support of the petition was given by Mrs. Champion de Crespigny and servants from the hotel.
On 12th August 1943 [her former husband] Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny 8th Baronet [aged 36] and Monica Flemming [aged 30] were married.
On 12th August 1947 Frederick Philip Champion de Crespigny 7th Baronet [aged 62] died. His first cousin [her former husband] Vivian [aged 40] succeeded 8th Baronet Champion de Crespigny of Champion Lodge in Surrey.
Before 24th November 1947 [her former husband] Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny 8th Baronet [aged 40] and Monica Flemming [aged 34] were divorced.
On 24th November 1947 Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny 8th Baronet [aged 40] and Barbara aka Helen Dobb [aged 42] were married for a second time.
In 1951 Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny 8th Baronet [aged 43] and Barbara aka Helen Dobb [aged 45] were divorced again.
Daily Mirror - 28th February 1951: The Baronet who married the wife he had divorced. Sir Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny, Bart, Upper Grosvenor-street, London, was granted a decree-nisi by Judge Sir Gerald Hurst in the Divorce Court yesterday on the ground of adultery by his wife, Lady (Helen Barbara) de Crespigny with a Major Powell. The suit was undefended. Sir Vivian and Lady de Crespigny were remarried'at Westminster Register Office in 1947 after being previously married and divorced. There is one child of the first marriage. Evidence was given by a former chauffeur-butler to Lady de Crespigny. Costs were awarded against the co-respondent.
On 3rd March 1952 [her former husband] Vivian Tyrell Champion de Crespigny 8th Baronet [aged 44] shot himself in the head at Pulau Brani near Singapore. Baronet Champion de Crespigny of Champion Lodge in Surrey extinct.
