She by marriage Countess Arundel Sussex. He the son of Edmund Fitzalan 9th Earl Arundel (age 35) and Alice Warenne Countess Arundel. They were half third cousin once removed. He a great x 5 grandson of King John "Lackland" of England. She a great granddaughter of King Edward "Longshanks" I of England. 
Before 17 Nov 1326 [his grandfather] Edmund Fitzalan 9th Earl Arundel (age 41) was captured by John Charleton 1st Baron Cherleton (age 58) at Shrewsbury, Shropshire [Map] whilst attempting to gather troops to suport King Edward II of England (age 42). On 17 Nov 1326 he was beheaded with a blunt sword requiring twenty-two strokes at Hereford [Map]. His son [his father] Richard Fitzalan 10th Earl Arundel 8th Earl Surrey (age 20) succeeded 10th Earl Arundel Sussex.
On 06 Nov 1330 John Beaumont 2nd Baron Beaumont (age 12) and [his mother] Eleanor Plantagenet Countess Arundel and Surrey (age 12) were married. She the daughter of Henry Plantagenet 3rd Earl of Leicester 3rd Earl Lancaster (age 49) and Maud Chaworth. He the son of Henry Beaumont Earl Buchan (age 51) and Alice Comyn Baroness Beaumont. In 1377 John Fitzalan 1st Baron Arundel Baron Maltravers (age 29) was appointed Earl Marshal.
On 04 Aug 1377 John Fitzalan 1st Baron Arundel Baron Maltravers (age 29) was created 1st Baron Arundel by writ of summons. [his wife] Eleanor Maltravers 2nd Baroness Maltravers Baroness Arundel and Cobham (age 32) by marriage Baroness Arundel.
On 16 Dec 1379 John Fitzalan 1st Baron Arundel Baron Maltravers (age 31) drowned. He was buried at Lewes Priory [Map]. The Chronica Majora reports "... that during the panic of the storm, Sir John murdered those of his men who refused to make for shore for fear of being shipwrecked upon the rocks. Subsequently, after safely arriving on an island off the Irish coast, Sir John and his boat captain were swept back into the sea and drowned". His son [his son] John Fitzalan Baron Maltravers 2nd Baron Arundel (age 15) succeeded 2nd Baron Arundel.
In 1380 Reginald Cobham 2nd Baron Cobham (age 31) and [his former wife] Eleanor Maltravers 2nd Baroness Maltravers Baroness Arundel and Cobham (age 35) were married. She by marriage Baroness Cobham. On 12 Jan 1405 [his former wife] Eleanor Maltravers 2nd Baroness Maltravers Baroness Arundel and Cobham (age 60) died at Sussex. She was buried at Lewes Priory [Map]. Her grandson John Fitzalan 13th Earl Arundel (age 19) succeeded 3rd Baron Maltravers.
