Biography of Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross -1394
Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross was born to William 5th Earl Ross.
On 19 Jul 1333 King Edward III of England (age 20) defeated the Scots army at the Battle of Halidon Hill near Berwick on Tweed [Map]. John of Eltham 1st Earl Cornwall (age 16) commanded.
English archers, just as at the Battle of Dupplin Moor one year previously, had a significant impact on the massed ranks of Scottish schiltrons. Edward's army included: Thomas of Brotherton 1st Earl Norfolk (age 33), who commanded the right wing, Hugh Courtenay 9th Earl Devon (age 56), Robert Pierrepont, Hugh Courtenay 10th Earl Devon (age 30), Henry Beaumont Earl Buchan (age 54) and John Sully (age 50). One of the few English casualties was John Neville (age 34) who was killed.
The Scottish army included King David II of Scotland (age 9). Alexander Bruce, Alan Stewart (age 61), James Stewart (age 57), John Stewart, William Douglas 1st Earl Atholl, Archibald Douglas (age 35) who were all killed.
[her grandfather] Hugh 4th Earl Ross (age 36) was killed. His son [her father] William 5th Earl Ross succeeded 5th Earl Ross.
Malcolm Lennox 2nd Earl Lennox was killed. His son Domhnall Lennox Earl Lennox succeeded Earl Lennox.
Kenneth de Moravia Sutherland 4th Earl Sutherland was killed. His son William de Moravia Sutherland 5th Earl Sutherland succeeded 5th Earl Sutherland. Johanna Menteith Countess Sutherland by marriage Countess Sutherland.
On 13 Sep 1366 Walter Leslie Earl of Ross and Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross were married. She the daughter of William 5th Earl Ross.
In 1372 [her father] William 5th Earl Ross died. His daughter Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross succeeded 6th Countess Ross. [her husband] Walter Leslie Earl of Ross by marriage Earl Ross.
Before 07 Nov 1372 Thomas Hay 7th Baron Erroll (age 30) and [her future sister-in-law] Elizabeth Stewart (age 22) were married. She the daughter of King Robert II of Scotland (age 56) and Elizabeth Mure Queen Consort Scotland. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King John "Lackland" of England. 
Before 27 Dec 1375 John Keith (age 24) and [her future sister-in-law] Princess Johanna aka Jean Stewart (age 25) were married. She the daughter of King Robert II of Scotland (age 59) and Elizabeth Mure Queen Consort Scotland. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King John "Lackland" of England.
In 1376 John Lyon Lord of Glamis (age 36) and [her future sister-in-law] Princess Johanna aka Jean Stewart (age 26) were married. She the daughter of King Robert II of Scotland (age 59) and Elizabeth Mure Queen Consort Scotland. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King John "Lackland" of England.
On 24 or 25 Feb 1382 Alexander "The Wolf of Badenoch" Stewart 3rd Earl Buchan (age 39) and Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross were married. He by marriage Earl Ross. She the daughter of William 5th Earl Ross. He the son of King Robert II of Scotland (age 65) and Elizabeth Mure Queen Consort Scotland. They were second cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King John "Lackland" of England.
In 1387 William "Nithsdale" Douglas (age 23) and [her sister-in-law] Princess Egidia Stewart (age 19) were married. She the daughter of King Robert II of Scotland (age 70) and Euphemia Ross Queen Consort Scotland. He the illegitmate son of Archibald "Grim" Douglas 3rd Earl Douglas (age 57). They were third cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King John "Lackland" of England.
Around 1388 [her sister-in-law] Princess Egidia Stewart (age 20) died.
In 1389 [her sister-in-law] Elizabeth Stewart (age 39) died.
On 05 or 15 Dec 1392 Alexander "The Wolf of Badenoch" Stewart 3rd Earl Buchan (age 49) and Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross were divorced.
After 05 Sep 1394 Euphemia 6th Countess of Ross died. She was buried at Fortrose Cathedral.
In 1405 [her former husband] Alexander "The Wolf of Badenoch" Stewart 3rd Earl Buchan (age 62) died.
