THIS unappropriated figure presents a good example of the chain-mail armour of the thirteenth century. It is presumed to belong to the family of Rey^a.

There was formerly another mutilated Effigy in a chapel which has since been used as the schoolhouse, and an inscription to Nicholas Rey and his son Edmund; as we learn from a Collection of Lincolnshire epitaphs, made by the Rev. Robert Smyth in the middle of the last century, and now in the possession of J. B. Nichols, Esq. F.S.A.
