Biography of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol 1730-1803

On 25th October 1720 [his father] John Hervey 2nd Baron Hervey (age 24) and [his mother] Mary Lepell Baroness Hervey (age 20) were married. He the son of [his grandfather] John Hervey 1st Earl Bristol (age 55) and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Felton Countess Bristol (age 43).

On 1st August 1730 Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol was born to [his father] John Hervey 2nd Baron Hervey (age 33) and [his mother] Mary Lepell Baroness Hervey (age 30).

In 1733 [his father] John Hervey 2nd Baron Hervey (age 36) by writ of acceleration 2nd Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk. [his mother] Mary Lepell Baroness Hervey (age 33) by marriage Baroness Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk.

On 26th February 1743 [his brother-in-law] Constantine Phipps 1st Baron Mulgrave (age 20) and [his sister] Lepell Hervey Baroness Mulgrave (age 19) were married.

On 5th August 1743 [his father] John Hervey 2nd Baron Hervey (age 46) died. His son [his brother] George (age 22) succeeded 3rd Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk.

On 4th August 1744 [his brother] Augustus John Hervey 3rd Earl Bristol (age 20) and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Chudleigh Duchess Kingston upon Hull (age 23) were married privately at Lainston House Winchester. There marriage remained a secret until she wanted to marry Evelyn Pierrepont 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 33) in 1769 at which time she initiated a suit of jactitation against him requiring him to prove they were married. The court found in her favour.

On 20th January 1751 [his grandfather] John Hervey 1st Earl Bristol (age 85) died. His grandson [his brother] George (age 30) succeeded 2nd Earl Bristol.

Before 1753 Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 22) and Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 19) were married. They were half fourth cousin once removed.

In 1753 [his daughter] Mary Caroline Hervey Countess Erne was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 22) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 20). She married 1776 John Crichton 1st Earl Erne, son of Abraham Crichton 1st Baron Erne, and had issue.

In 1755 [his son] George Hervey was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 24) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 22). He died aged ten in 1765.

On or before 29th January 1757, the date he was baptised at Horningsheath, Suffolk, [his son] John Augustus "Jack" Hervey was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 26) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 24). He married 4th October 1779 Elizabeth Drummond.

In 1758 [his daughter] Elizabeth Christiana Hervey Duchess Devonshire was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 27) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 25). She married 1809 her sixth cousin William Cavendish 5th Duke Devonshire, son of William Cavendish 4th Duke Devonshire and Charlotte Elizabeth Boyle Marchioness Hartington, and had issue.

In 1761 [his son] Son Hervey died.

In 1761 [his son] Son Hervey was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 30) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 28). He died aged less than one years old.

In 1765 [his son] George Hervey (age 10) died at Spa.

In 1767 [his brother-in-law] Constantine Phipps 1st Baron Mulgrave (age 44) was created 1st Baron Mulgrave of New Ross in Wexford. [his sister] Lepell Hervey Baroness Mulgrave (age 43) by marriage Baroness Mulgrave of New Ross in Wexford.

In 1767 [his daughter] Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 36) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 34). She married 25th March 1795 Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool, son of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool and Amelia Watts.

On 2nd September 1768 [his mother] Mary Lepell Baroness Hervey (age 68) died.

On 8th March 1769 Evelyn Pierrepont 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 58) and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Chudleigh Duchess Kingston upon Hull (age 48) were married. Allegedly bigamously since her first husband [his brother] Augustus John Hervey 3rd Earl Bristol (age 44) was still living, at Keith's Chapel, Mayfair. She by marriage Duchess Kingston upon Hull.

On 2nd October 1769 [his son] Frederick William Hervey 1st Marquess of Bristol was born to Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 39) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 36). He married before 29th December 1798 Elizabeth Albana Upton, daughter of Clotworthy Upton 1st Baron Templetown and Elizabeth Boughton Baroness Templetown, and had issue.

In 1775 [his brother] George William Hervey 2nd Earl Bristol (age 54) died. His brother [his brother] Augustus (age 50) succeeded 3rd Earl Bristol, 4th Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk.

In 1776 [his son-in-law] John Crichton 1st Earl Erne (age 45) and [his daughter] Mary Caroline Hervey Countess Erne (age 23) were married. The difference in their ages was 22 years. She the daughter of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 45) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 43).

On 4th October 1779 [his son] John Augustus "Jack" Hervey (age 22) and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Drummond (age 21) were married. He the son of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 49) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 46).

On 23rd December 1779 [his brother] Augustus John Hervey 3rd Earl Bristol (age 55) died due to a gout in the stomach in St James' Square. His brother Frederick (age 49) succeeded 4th Earl Bristol, 5th Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk. [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 46) by marriage Countess Bristol.

On 11th May 1780 [his sister] Lepell Hervey Baroness Mulgrave (age 57) died.

On 25th March 1795 [his son-in-law] Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool (age 24) and [his daughter] Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool (age 28) were married at Wimbledon, Surrey. She the daughter of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 64) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 62). He the son of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool (age 65) and Amelia Watts.

In 1796 [his son] John Augustus "Jack" Hervey (age 38) died aboard hs shp "The Zealous" and was buried on 26th September 1796 at Ickworth, Suffolk, England.

Before 29th December 1798 [his son] Frederick William Hervey 1st Marquess of Bristol (age 29) and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Albana Upton (age 23) were married. He the son of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 68) and [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 65).

In 1799 Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 68) abeyance terminated 5th Baron Howard de Walden.

On 19th December 1800 [his wife] Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (age 67) died.

On 8th July 1803 Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol (age 72) died in Lazio. His son Frederick (age 33) succeeded 5th Earl Bristol, 6th Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk. H3NG0wbdHis great grandson [his great grandson] Charles (age 4) succeeded 6th Baron Howard de Walden.
