Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes
Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut. On 15th May 1699 [his father] Henry Bunbury 3rd Baronet [aged 22] and [his mother] Susannah Hanmer Lady Bunbury [aged 22] were married. They had four sons and five daughters. She by marriage Lady Bunbury of Bunbury in Oxfordshire and Stanney Hall in Cheshire.
On or before 9th February 1708 Charles Bunbury 4th Baronet was born to Henry Bunbury 3rd Baronet [aged 31] and Susannah Hanmer Lady Bunbury [aged 31]. He was baptised at Chester Cathedral [Map] on 9th February 1708.
On 12th February 1733 [his father] Henry Bunbury 3rd Baronet [aged 56] died. His son Charles [aged 25] succeeded 4th Baronet Bunbury of Bunbury in Oxfordshire and Stanney Hall in Cheshire.
On 21st March 1733 Charles Bunbury 4th Baronet [aged 25] was elected MP Chester.
In 1734 Charles Bunbury 4th Baronet [aged 25] was elected MP Chester.
In 1741 Charles Bunbury 4th Baronet [aged 32] was elected MP Chester.
On 10th April 1742 Charles Bunbury 4th Baronet [aged 34] died unmarried. His brother William [aged 32] succeeded 5th Baronet Bunbury of Bunbury in Oxfordshire and Stanney Hall in Cheshire.
