The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

In or before 1652 [his father] William Wray 1st Baronet (age 26) and [his mother] Olympia Tufton Lady Ashby (age 27) were married. They had 3 sons and 5 daughters. They were sixth cousins.

Around 1652 Christopher Wray 2nd and 6th Baronet was born to William Wray 1st Baronet (age 27) and Olympia Tufton Lady Ashby (age 28).

On 19th December 1668 Christopher Wray 2nd and 6th Baronet (age 16) was educated at University College, Oxford University.

On 17th October 1669 [his father] William Wray 1st Baronet (age 44) died. His son Christopher (age 17) succeeded 2nd Baronet Wray of Ashby in Lincolnshire.

On 19th February 1672 Bethel Wray 5th Baronet (age 49) died. He was buried at St Giles' in the Fields Church [Map]. His half first cousin once removed Christopher (age 20) succeeded 6th Baronet Wray of Glentworth in Lincolnshire.

Before 31st August 1679 Christopher Wray 2nd and 6th Baronet (age 27) died. On 31st August 1679 Christopher Wray 2nd and 6th Baronet was buried at St Giles' in the Fields Church [Map]. His brother [his brother] William (age 26) succeeded 3rd Baronet Wray of Ashby in Lincolnshire, 7th Baronet Wray of Glentworth in Lincolnshire.

Before 31st August 1679 Christopher Wray 2nd and 6th Baronet (age 27) was elected MP Grimsby.
