On 3rd July 1839 [his father] George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon (age 39) and [his mother] Katherine Grimston Countess Clarendon (age 29) were married. She by marriage Countess Clarendon. She the daughter of [his grandfather] James Walter Grimston 1st Earl Verulam (age 63) and [his grandmother] Charlotte Jenkinson Countess Verulam.

On 11th February 1846 Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon was born to [his father] George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon (age 46) and [his mother] Katherine Grimston Countess Clarendon (age 35) at the Vice Regal Lodge, Dublin.

In 1849 [his father] George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon (age 48) was appointed 704th Knight of the Garter by Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom (age 29).

On 17th August 1860 [his brother-in-law] Edward Bootle Wibraham 1st Earl Lathom (age 22) and [his sister] Alice Villiers Countess Lathom (age 19) were married. She the daughter of [his father] George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon (age 60) and [his mother] Katherine Grimston Countess Clarendon (age 50).

On 31st May 1864 [his brother-in-law] Frederick Arthur Stanley 16th Earl of Derby (age 23) and [his sister] Constance Villiers Countess Derby (age 24) were married. She the daughter of [his father] George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon (age 64) and [his mother] Katherine Grimston Countess Clarendon (age 54). He the son of Edward Smith-Stanley 14th Earl of Derby (age 65) and Emma Caroline Bootle-Wilbraham Countess Derby (age 59).

On 5th May 1868 [his brother-in-law] Odo Russell 1st Baron Ampthill (age 39) and [his sister] Emily Theresa Villiers Baroness Ampthill (age 25) were married. She the daughter of [his father] George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon (age 68) and [his mother] Katherine Grimston Countess Clarendon (age 58). They were fifth cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

In 1869 Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon (age 22) was elected MP Breconshire which seat he held until 1870.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 6th September 1876 Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon (age 30) and Caroline Elizabeth Agar Countess Clarendon (age 19) were married at Harbridge, Someroy. She by marriage Countess Clarendon. She the daughter of James Charles Agar 3rd Earl Normanton (age 57) and Caroline Susan Augusta Barrington Countess Normanton (age 41). He the son of George William Villiers 4th Earl Clarendon and Katherine Grimston Countess Clarendon. They were sixth cousins. On 7th June 1877 [his son] George Herbert Hyde Villiers 6th Earl Clarendon was born to Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon (age 31) and [his wife] Caroline Elizabeth Agar Countess Clarendon (age 20) at 31 Upper Brook Street, Mayfair. He married 1905 Adeline Verena Ishbel Cocks Countess of Clarendon.

In 1878 [his daughter] Edith Villiers Countess Mount Edgecumbe was born to Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon (age 31) and [his wife] Caroline Elizabeth Agar Countess Clarendon (age 20) She married 1911 her fourth cousin once removed Piers Edgcumbe 5th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, son of William Henry Edgecumbe 4th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe and Katherine Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Mount Edgcumbe.

On 21st April 1893 Edward Henry Stanley 15th Earl of Derby (age 66) died at Knowsley, Lancashire. His brother [his brother-in-law] Frederick (age 52) succeeded 16th Earl Derby, 10th Baronet Stanley of Bickerstaffe. [his sister] Constance Villiers Countess Derby (age 53) by marriage Countess Derby.

The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy

The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. In 1911 [his son-in-law] Piers Edgcumbe 5th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe (age 46) and [his daughter] Edith Villiers Countess Mount Edgecumbe (age 33) were married. There was no issue from the marriage. She the daughter of Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon (age 64) and [his former wife] Caroline Elizabeth Agar Countess Clarendon. On 2nd October 1914 Edward Villiers 5th Earl Clarendon (age 68) died at The Grove, Watford [Map]. His son George (age 37) succeeded 6th Earl Clarendon, 6th Baron Hyde of Hindon in Wiltshire 1756.
