Biography of Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol 1954-1999

On 6th October 1949 [his father] Victor Hervey 6th Marquess of Bristol (age 34) and [his mother] Pauline Mary Bolton were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Herbert Hervey 5th Marquess of Bristol (age 78) and [his grandmother] Jean Cochrane (age 62).

On 15th September 1954 Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol was born to Victor Hervey 6th Marquess of Bristol (age 38) and Pauline Mary Bolton.

In 1959 [his father] Victor Hervey 6th Marquess of Bristol (age 43) and [his mother] Pauline Mary Bolton were divorced.

On 23rd April 1960 [his father] Victor Hervey 6th Marquess of Bristol (age 44) and Ann Juliet Dorothea Maud Wentworth-Fitzwilliam Marchioness Bristol (age 25) were married. She by marriage Marchioness of Bristol. She the daughter of William Henry Lawrence Peter Wentworth-Fitzwilliam 8th and 6th Earl Fitzwilliam. He the son of [his grandfather] Herbert Hervey 5th Marquess of Bristol (deceased) and [his grandmother] Jean Cochrane. They were third cousin twice removed.

On 12th July 1974 [his father] Victor Hervey 6th Marquess of Bristol (age 58) and Yvonne Marie Sutton Marchioness Bristol (age 29) were married. She by marriage Marchioness of Bristol. The difference in their ages was 29 years. He the son of [his grandfather] Herbert Hervey 5th Marquess of Bristol and [his grandmother] Jean Cochrane.

On 10th March 1985 [his father] Victor Hervey 6th Marquess of Bristol (age 69) died in Monaco. His son Frederick (age 30) succeeded 7th Marquess of Bristol, 7th Earl Jermyn of Horningworth in Suffolk, 11th Earl Bristol, 12th Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk.

In 1988 Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol (age 33) was imprisoned for a year in Jersey for cocaine possession and trafficking. He served seven months of the sentence and was released in April 1989.

In April 1990 Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol (age 35) was deported from Australia and charged with drug possession in November 1991 and March 1992.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

In March 1994 Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol (age 39) sold the contents of Ickworth House Ickworth, Bury St Edmunds at auction for £2.3 million.

On 10th January 1999 Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol (age 44) died of multiple organ failure due to chronic drug abuse almost penniless at Little Horringer Hall, Bury St Edmunds [Map]. His half brother [his half-brother] Frederick (age 19) succeeded 8th Marquess of Bristol, 8th Earl Jermyn of Horningworth in Suffolk, 12th Earl Bristol, 13th Baron Hervey of Ickworth in Suffolk.

On 23rd February 1999 Frederick William John Augustus Hervey 7th Marquess of Bristol (deceased) was buried at St Mary's Church Ickworth, Bury St Edmunds.
