The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

Around 1644 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet was born to Thomas Liddell 2nd Baronet and Anne Vane (age 21).
Before 1670 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 25) and Catherine Bright (age 5) were married. The difference in their ages was 20 years.
Around 1681 [his son] Thomas Liddell was born to Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 37) and [his wife] Catherine Bright (age 16).
In 1686 [his mother] Anne Vane (age 63) died.
On 13th October 1688 [his father-in-law] John Bright 1st Baronet (age 68) died. He was buried at Saint Mary the Virgin Church, Badsworth. Baronet Bright of Badsworth in Yorkshire extinct. His estates were inherited by his daughter [his wife] Catherine Bright (age 23) and her husband Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 44).
In 1689 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 45) was elected MP Durham which seat he held until 1690.
In 1695 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 51) was elected MP Durham which seat he held until 1698.

In 1697 [his father] Thomas Liddell 2nd Baronet died. His son Henry (age 53) succeeded 3rd Baronet Liddell of Ravensworth Castle.
In February 1701 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 57) was elected MP Newcastle upon Tyne which seat he held until 1705.
On 12th October 1701 [his son] Thomas Liddell (age 20) and [his daughter-in-law] Jane Clavering were married.
Around February 1703 [his wife] Catherine Bright (age 38) died.
On 2nd January 1706 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 62) was elected MP Newcastle upon Tyne which seat he held until 1710.
On 3rd June 1715 [his son] Thomas Liddell (age 34) died.
On 1st September 1723 Henry Liddell 3rd Baronet (age 79) died. His grandson [his grandson] Henry (age 15) succeeded 4th Baronet Liddell of Ravensworth Castle.
