Around 1680 [his father] Richard Astley 1st Baronet (age 55) and Henrietta Borlase were married.
On or before 24th January 1687 John Astley 2nd Baronet was born to Richard Astley 1st Baronet (age 62). He was baptised on 24th January 1687 at St Mary's Church, Patshull.
On 24th February 1688 [his father] Richard Astley 1st Baronet (age 63) died. He was buried at St Mary's Church, Patshull. His son John (age 1) succeeded 2nd Baronet Astley of Patshull.
On 27th May 1711 John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 24) and Mary Prynce were married.
On 19th October 1716 [his daughter] Alice Astley Countess Tankerville was born to John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 29).
In 1727 John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 39) was elected MP Shrewsbury which seat he held until 1734.
Around 1730 [his daughter] Arabella Astley Lady Vincent was born to John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 42).
In 1734 John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 46) was elected MP Shropshire which seat he held until his death in 1772.
On 22nd September 1742 [his son-in-law] Charles Bennet 3rd Earl Tankerville (age 26) and [his daughter] Alice Astley Countess Tankerville (age 25) were married. He the son of Charles Bennet 2nd Earl Tankerville (age 44) and Camilla Colville Countess Tankerville (age 45).
Around 1750 John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 62) had the house and St Mary's Church, Patshull demolished, rebuilding both at a great expense, then selling the house and estate for £100,000.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
In June 1761 [his son-in-law] Francis Vincent 7th Baronet (age 44) and [his daughter] Arabella Astley Lady Vincent (age 31) were married. She by marriage Lady Vincent of Stoke d'Abernon.
On 29th December 1772 John Astley 2nd Baronet (age 85) died. Baronet Astley of Patshull extinct.
