Biography of John Honywood 4th Baronet 1757-1806

Paternal Family Tree: Honywood

Around 1757 John Honywood 4th Baronet was born to William Honywood.

On 13th December 1779 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 22) and Frances Courtenay (age 16) were married. They had a son and six daughters. She the daughter of William Courtenay 8th Earl Devon (age 37) and Frances Clack Countess Devon.

On 26th December 1781 [his grandfather] John Honywood 3rd Baronet (age 71) died. His grandson John (age 24) succeeded 4th Baronet Honywood of Evington in Kent.

In 1784 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 27) was elected MP Steyning which seat he held until Jul 1785.

On 20th February 1787 [his son] John Coutenay Honywood 5th Baronet was born to John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 30) and [his wife] Frances Courtenay (age 24).

On 17th April 1788 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 31) was elected MP Steyning which seat he held until 1790.

On 14th October 1788 [his father-in-law] William Courtenay 8th Earl Devon (age 45) died. His son [his brother-in-law] William (age 20) de jure 9th Earl Devon, 3rd Viscount Courtenay.

In 1790 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 33) was elected MP Canterbury which seat he held until 1796. He had also contested MP Steyning but was defeated.

Around May 1790 [his daughter] Caroline Honywood was born to John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 33) and [his wife] Frances Courtenay (age 27).

On 3rd September 1790 George Annesley 2nd Earl Mountnorris (age 19) and [his sister-in-law] Anne Courtenay Countess Mountnorris (age 16) were married. She by marriage Countess Mountnorris of Mountnorris Castle in Armagh. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] William Courtenay 8th Earl Devon and [his mother-in-law] Frances Clack Countess Devon. He the son of Arthur Annesley 1st Earl Mountnorris (age 46) and Lucy Lyttelton Baronet.

On 10th March 1797 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 40) was elected MP Canterbury which seat he held until 1802.

In 1802 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 45) was elected MP Honiton which seat he held until his death on 29 Mar 1806.

On 29th March 1806 John Honywood 4th Baronet (age 49) died. His son [his son] John (age 19) succeeded 5th Baronet Honywood of Evington in Kent.

In 1838 [his former wife] Frances Courtenay (age 75) died.

[his daughter] Annabella Christiana Honywood was born to John Honywood 4th Baronet and Frances Courtenay.
