Before 16th February 1748 [his father] Edward Turner 2nd Baronet (age 28) and [his mother] Cassandra Leigh 1739-1827 Lady Turner (age 24) were married. She by marriage Lady Turner of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire.
On 11th November 1752 John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet was born to Edward Turner 2nd Baronet (age 33) and Cassandra Leigh 1739-1827 Lady Turner (age 29).
On 31st October 1766 [his father] Edward Turner 2nd Baronet (age 47) died. His son [his brother] Gregory (age 18) succeeded 3rd Baronet Turner of Ambrosden in Oxfordshire.
On 18th October 1770 [his mother] Cassandra Leigh 1739-1827 Lady Turner (age 47) died.
On 14th May 1781 John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 28) and Elizabeth Dryden (age 27) were married.
On 17th September 1782 [his son] John Edward Dryden 2nd Baronet was born to John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 29) and [his wife] Elizabeth Dryden (age 29).
On 7th July 1787 [his son] Reverend Henry Dryden 3rd Baronet was born to John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 34) and [his wife] Elizabeth Dryden (age 33).
On 16th December 1791 John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 39) changed his surname from Turner to Dryden by Royal Licence.
In 1792 John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 39) was appointed High Sheriff of Northamptonshire.

On 4th April 1796 [his son] Charles Beville Dryden was born to John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 43) and [his wife] Elizabeth Dryden (age 42).
On 14th August 1797 John Turner aka Dryden 1st Baronet (age 44) died. His son [his son] John (age 14) succeeded 2nd Baronet Dryden of Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
