All About History Books
The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

She by marriage Baroness Foley of Kidderminster in Worcestershire. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William Robert Fitzgerald 2nd Duke Leinster and [his grandmother] Emilia St George Duchess Leinster. They were fourth cousins. He a great x 3 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.
On 11th December 1808 Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley was born to Thomas Foley 3rd Baron Foley (age 27) and Cecilia Olivia Geraldine Fitzgerald Baroness Foley (age 22).
On 16th April 1833 [his father] Thomas Foley 3rd Baron Foley (age 52) died. He was buried at Saint Michael and All Angels Church, Great Witley [Map]. His son Thomas (age 24) succeeded 4th Baron Foley of Kidderminster in Worcestershire.
On 16th July 1849 Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley (age 40) and Mary Charlotte Fitzalan Baroness Foley (age 27) were married. She by marriage Baroness Foley of Kidderminster in Worcestershire. She the daughter of Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk (age 57) and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk (age 61). They were half fifth cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.
On 4th December 1850 [his son] Henry Thomas Foley 5th Baron Foley was born to Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley (age 41) and [his wife] Mary Charlotte Fitzalan Baroness Foley (age 28).
The London Gazette 21239. St. James's-Palace, February 27, 1852. The Queen has been pleased to appoint John William (age 40), Earl of Sandwich, to be Captain of Her Majesty's Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, in the room of Thomas Henry (age 43), Lord Foley, resigned.
On 27th September 1852 [his son] Fitzalan Charles John Foley 6th Baron Foley was born to Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley (age 43) and [his wife] Mary Charlotte Fitzalan Baroness Foley (age 30).

On 27th July 1863 [his mother] Cecilia Olivia Geraldine Fitzgerald Baroness Foley (age 77) died.
On 20th November 1869 Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley (age 60) died. His son [his son] Henry (age 18) succeeded 5th Baron Foley of Kidderminster in Worcestershire.
In 1897 [his former wife] Mary Charlotte Fitzalan Baroness Foley (age 75) died.
