On 21st February 1825 [his uncle] Thomas Heathcote 4th Baronet (age 55) died. His nephew William (age 23) succeeded 5th Baronet Heathcote of Hursley in Hampshire.

On 8th November 1825 William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 24) and Caroline Frances Perceval Lady Heathcote were married. She by marriage Lady Heathcote of Hursley in Hampshire.

In 1826 William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 24) was elected MP Hampshire which seat he held until 1831.

On 7th September 1826 [his son] William Perceval Heathcote 6th Baronet was born to William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 25) and [his wife] Caroline Frances Perceval Lady Heathcote.

On 24th July 1828 [his son] George Parker Heathcote was born to William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 27) and [his wife] Caroline Frances Perceval Lady Heathcote. He married 15th June 1869 his half second cousin Isabella Mararetta Elizabeth Walpole.

On 12th July 1830 [his son] Reverend Gilbert Vyvyan Heathcote was born to William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 29) and [his wife] Caroline Frances Perceval Lady Heathcote. He married (1) 29th March 1853 his second cousin Eliza Heathcote (2) 14th November 1865 Helen Maxwell Cunningham and had issue (3) 20th November 1883 his first cousin once removed Mary Henrietta Perceval and had issue.

On 3rd March 1835 [his wife] Caroline Frances Perceval Lady Heathcote died.

In 1837 William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 35) was elected MP North Hampshire which seat he held until 1849.

On 18th May 1841 William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 40) and Selina Shirley Lady Heathcote were married. She by marriage Lady Heathcote of Hursley in Hampshire.

On 29th March 1853 [his son] Reverend Gilbert Vyvyan Heathcote (age 22) and [his daughter-in-law] Eliza Heathcote were married. They were second cousins.

In 1854 William Heathcote 5th Baronet (age 52) was elected MP Oxford University which seat he held until 1868.

On 14th November 1865 [his son] Reverend Gilbert Vyvyan Heathcote (age 35) and [his daughter-in-law] Helen Maxwell Cunningham were married.

On 15th June 1869 [his son] George Parker Heathcote (age 40) and [his daughter-in-law] Isabella Mararetta Elizabeth Walpole were married. They were half second cousins.
