The King has been pleased to grant the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto the Right Honourable Henry Brougham (age 52), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, stile, and title of Baron Brougham and Vaux, of Brougham, in the county of Westmorland.
On 7th May 1868 Henry Brougham 1st Baron Brougham and Vaux (age 89) died. Baron Brougham and Vaux extinct. His brother William (age 72) succeeded 2nd Baron Brougham and Vaux. Emily Frances Taylor Lady Brougham by marriage Baroness Brougham and Vaux.

The Queen has been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland unto Henry (age 81), Baron Brougham and Vaux, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Brougham and Vaux, of Brougham, in the county of Westmorland, and of Highhead Castle, in the county of Cumberland, with remainder, in default of such heirs male, to his brother, William Brougham (age 64), Esq., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten.
On 7th May 1868 Henry Brougham 1st Baron Brougham and Vaux (age 89) died. Baron Brougham and Vaux extinct. His brother William (age 72) succeeded 2nd Baron Brougham and Vaux. Emily Frances Taylor Lady Brougham by marriage Baroness Brougham and Vaux.
On 3rd January 1886 William Brougham 2nd Baron Brougham and Vaux (age 90) died. His son Henry (age 49) succeeded 3rd Baron Brougham and Vaux. Adora Frances Olga Wells Lady Musgrave and Baroness Brougham (age 37) by marriage Baroness Brougham and Vaux.
On 24th May 1927 Henry Brougham 3rd Baron Brougham and Vaux (age 90) died. His grandson Victor (age 17) succeeded 4th Baron Brougham and Vaux. His only son Henry Brougham had predeceased him twenty days before.
On 20th June 1967 Victor Brougham 4th Baron Brougham and Vaux (age 57) died. His son Michael (age 28) succeeded 5th Baron Brougham and Vaux
On 27th August 2023 Michael Brougham 5th Baron Brougham and Vaux (age 85) died. His son Charles (age 52) succeeded 6th Baron Brougham and Vaux
