The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

In 1858 Robert Smith aka Vernon 1st Baron Lyveden (age 57) was created 1st Baron Lyveden. Emma Mary Fitzpatrick Baroness Lyveden (age 50) by marriage Baroness Lyveden.
On 10th November 1873 Robert Smith aka Vernon 1st Baron Lyveden (age 73) died. He was buried in Brigstock, Boughton. His son Fitzpatrick (age 49) succeeded 2nd Baron Lyveden. Albreda Elizabeth Wentworth-Fitzwilliam Baroness Lyveden (age 44) by marriage Baroness Lyveden.
In 1896 Fitzpatrick Vernon 2nd Baron Lyveden (age 71) and Julia Kate Emary Baroness Lyveden were married. She by marriage Baroness Lyveden.
On 25th February 1900 Fitzpatrick Vernon 2nd Baron Lyveden (age 75) died without issue. His nephew Courtenay (age 42) succeeded 3rd Baron Lyveden.
On 25th December 1926 Courtenay Robert Percy Vernon 3rd Baron Lyveden (age 68) died. His son Robert (age 34) succeeded 4th Baron Lyveden.
On 9th January 1969 Robert Fitzpatrick Courtenay Vernon 4th Baron Lyveden (age 76) died. His second cousin Sidney (age 80) succeeded 5th Baron Lyveden.
On 19th September 1973 Sidney Munroe Archibald Vernon 5th Baron Lyveden (age 84) died. His son Ronald (age 58) succeeded 6th Baron Lyveden.
On 12th August 1999 Ronald Vernon 6th Baron Lyveden (age 84) died. His son Jack (age 60) succeeded 7th Baron Lyveden.
On 18th December 2017 Jack Vernon 7th Baron Lyveden (age 79) died. His son Colin (age 50) succeeded 8th Baron Lyveden.
