After June 1520 William Sandys 1st Baron Sandys Vyne (age 50) was created 1st Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire for having organised the Field of the Cloth of Gold.
On 4th December 1540 William Sandys 1st Baron Sandys Vyne (age 70) died at Calais [Map]. His son Thomas (age 44) succeeded 2nd Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire. Elizabeth Manners Baroness Sandys Vyne by marriage Baroness Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
In 1560 Thomas Sandys 2nd Baron Sandys Vyne (age 63) died. In 1560 His grandson William (age 15) succeeded 3rd Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
On 29th September 1623 William Sandys 3rd Baron Sandys Vyne (age 78) died. His son William succeeded 4th Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
Before 1629 William Sandys 4th Baron Sandys Vyne and Alathea Panton Baroness Sandys were married. She by marriage Baroness Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
In 1629 William Sandys 4th Baron Sandys Vyne died. His nephew Henry succeeded 5th Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
On 6th April 1644 Henry Sandys 5th Baron Sandys Vyne died. His son William succeeded 6th Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
In 1668 William Sandys 6th Baron Sandys died. His brother Henry succeeded 7th Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
Around 1680 Henry Sandys 7th Baron Sandys died unmarried. His brother Edwin succeeded 8th Baron Sandys of The Vyne in Hampshire.
All About History Books
The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

Baron Sandys of Ombersley in Worcestershire (2nd Creation)

On 20th December 1743 Samuel Sandys 1st Baron Sandys (age 48) was created 1st Baron Sandys of Ombersley in Worcestershire.
On 21st April 1770 Samuel Sandys 1st Baron Sandys (age 74) died after having been injured when his post-chaise overturned on Highgate Hill Highgate. His son Edwin (age 43) succeeded 2nd Baron Sandys of Ombersley in Worcestershire.
On 11th March 1797 Edwin Sandys 2nd Baron Sandys (age 70) died without issue. Baron Sandys of Ombersley in Worcestershire extinct. His estates passed to his niece Mary Sandys Marchioness Downshire (age 33).
