On 16th April 1148 Bishop Robert de Bethune died in Reims just after the closure of the Council of Reims. His remains were brought to Hereford Cathedral [Map] where he was buried. See Chronicle of Wigmore.

In 1049 Reims Cathedral was consecrated. Pope Leo XI was accepted the invitation to attend and announced the Council of Reims was to be held concurrent with consecration. During the course of the Council Geoffrey "Martel aka Hammer" Ingelger II Count Anjou was excommunicated for the imprisonment of Gervais Chateau Du Loir Archbishop of Reims (age 42).
On 6th August 1223 King Louis VIII of France (age 35) and Blanche Ivrea Queen Consort France (age 35) were crowned at Reims Cathedral.
On 11th May 1429 following her success at Orléans Joan of Arc (age 17) met Charles "Victorious" VII King France (age 26) at the Royal Lodge, Loches where she persuaded him to be crowned at Reims Cathedral.
On 17th July 1429 Charles "Victorious" VII King France (age 26) was crowned at Reims Cathedral by Cardinal Regnault de Chartres (age 49) with Joan of Arc (age 17) present.
Guy 14th de Laval Count (age 23), who was present, was created Count Laval.
On 13th February 1575 Henry III King France (age 23) was crowned III King France: Capet Valois Angoulême at Reims Cathedral.
On 14th February 1575 Henry III King France (age 23) and Louise Lorraine Queen Consort France (age 21) were married at Reims Cathedral; the day after his coronation. She by marriage Queen Consort France. He the son of King Henry II of France and Catherine Medici Queen Consort France (age 55). They were fourth cousins.
