On 5th January 1382 Philippa Plantagenet Countess March 2nd Countess Ulster (age 26) died at Cork [Map]. She was buried at Wigmore, Herefordshire [Map]. Her son Roger (age 7) succeeded Heir to the Throne of England, 6th Earl of Ulster

In 1403 John Kynaston (age 21) died at Cork [Map].

On 2nd July 1642 William St Leger (age 56) died at Cork [Map].

Around 1668 Bishop Thomas Vesey 1st Baronet was born to Archbishop John Vesey (age 29) and Anne Muschamp (age 18) at Cork [Map]. He married before 6th August 1730 his first cousin Mary Muschamp and had issue.

Storming of Cork

On 9th October 1690 Henry Fitzroy 1st Duke Grafton (age 27) was killed at Cork [Map] during the Storming of Cork. His son Charles (age 6) succeeded 2nd Duke Grafton, 2nd Earl Euston, 2nd Viscount Ipswich, 2nd Baron Sudbury.

John Evelyn's Diary. 12th October 1690. The French General, with Tyrconnel (age 60) and their forces, gone back to France, beaten out by King William. Cork [Map] delivered on discretion. The Duke of Grafton (deceased) was there mortally wounded and dies. Very great storms of wind. The 8th of this month Lord Spencer (age 49) wrote me word from Althorpe [Map], that there happened an earthquake the day before in the morning, which, though short, sensibly shook the house. The "Gazette" acquainted us that the like happened at the same time, half-past seven, at Barnstaple, Devon, Holyhead, Anglesey, and Dublin [Map]. We were not sensible of it here.

Around 1759 Elizabeth Farren was born to George Farren at Cork [Map]. She married 1st May 1797 Edward Smith-Stanley 12th Earl of Derby and had issue.

On 10th April 1775 General William Loftus (age 23) embarked at Cork [Map] for Boston, Massachusetts. He arrived on 24th May 1775.

On 17th December 1821 Archbishop William Connor Magee was born at Cork [Map].

On 8th November 1625 Mary Boyle Countess Warwick was born to Richard Boyle 1st Earl Cork (age 59) and Catherine Fenton Countess Cork (age 40) at Youghal. She married 21st July 1641 Charles Rich 4th Earl Warwick, son of Robert Rich 2nd Earl Warwick and Frances Hatton Countess Warwick.
