Jean de Waurin was a French Chronicler, from the Artois region, who was born around 1400, and died around 1474. Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

On 26th November 1825 Ulick Burgh 1st Marquess Clanricarde (age 22) was created 1st Marquess Clarincade.
On 10th April 1874 Ulick Burgh 1st Marquess Clanricarde (age 71) died at Stratton Street. His son Hubert (age 41) succeeded 2nd Marquess Clarincade, 15th Earl Clanricarde, 2nd Baron Somerhill of Somerhill in Kent.
On 12th April 1916 Hubert George Burgh 2nd Marquess Clanricarde (age 83) died. Marquess Clarincade, Baron Somerhill of Somerhill in Kent extinct.
On 17th August 1785 Henry Burgh 1st Marquess Clarincade (age 43) was created 1st Marquess Clarincade. Urania Paulet Marchioness Clanricarde (age 18) by marriage Marchioness Clarincade.
On 8th December 1797 Henry Burgh 1st Marquess Clarincade (age 55) died without issue. Marquess Clarincade extinct. His brother John (age 53) succeeded 13th Earl Clanricarde.
